Length: 114 Min.
Video: Widescreen 1.85

Stars:
Sylvester Stallone

Burgess Meredith

Plot:
This is the film that catapulted Sylvester Stallone into the international spotlight and launched one of the most successful series of films in movie history. Rocky won the 1976 Academy Award for Best Picture and two nominations for Stallone for leading actor and writer. This is the story of a loser, a two bit boxer from Philadelphia, who gets a second chance in life by being offered an impossible shot at the heavyweight title. Stallone's performance is as powerful as his character's punches in the ring. This is one of the most exciting action movies you will ever see.

Extras:

Trailers

My Thoughts:
This is the first time, that I have watched this movie. Although I enjoyed it to some degree (I liked the romance and the final fight), the movie is a little dull overall. I am amazed that it has won three Oscars. In my opinion this was hardly "Best Picture" material. Also the direction was average in my opinion.
When I am honest, I wonder if I can get through the other movies, which are supposed to be getting worse.

Ghost Dog: Way of the Samurai, a review by addicted2dvd

Ghost Dog: Way of the Samurai
East meets West in this hip-hop infused samurai-gangster pic in which Forest Whitaker plays a professional killer who goes by the name of Ghost Dog and who lives by the age-old code of the Samurai.

When Ghost Dog's code is dangerously betrayed by the dysfunctional mafia family that occasionally employs him, he must find a way to defend himself without breaking the code of the Samurai.

My Thoughts:
This was a good movie... had a very strong story. I will admit that it wasn't exactly as I expected... as I was expecting more sword play and martial arts.... but for the most part he used a gun for everything. Not that I am complaining... was a really good movie... was just expecting something different is all.

This is a movie that I got super cheap when the video store I worked for  went out of business. So I got it for like $3.00... and was definitely worth every cent at that price! This DVD has been sitting on my unwatched shelf for about 4 or 5 years now... Wish I would have watched it sooner.

Angel Marathon, a review by DJ Doena

Disc 3

The Trial
Synopsis: As it turns out, Darla has the same illness that she had before she became a vampire. And she will die from it - within the next months. Angel tries anything in his power to prevent that - except for making her a vampire again.

My Opinion: Full circle. Darla sired Angel. Angel sired Drusilla. And now did Drusilla sire Darla. I liked the tests (they had an Indiana Jones touch), but I'm asking myself what kind of guys did try it before Angel, because the first guy didn't really looked unbeatable.

Reunion
Synopsis: Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war! Angel couldn't prevent the rising of Darla. Dru and Darla waltz through the city and leave a trail of blood and they do a massacre - just like Wolfram & Hart wanted them to do.

My Opinion: This episode totally proves the point I made earlier. Angel has let these people die - willingly, when he could have saved them. Let's see how that develops.

Redefinition
Synopsis: Angel fires Cordelia, Wesley and Gunn and goes on a hunt for his "relatives". In the meantime the three try to do what is supposed to be Angel's job: help the helpless.

My Opinion: Angel can be a badass even without being Angelus. But being on a campaign of vengeance has such results. But it is exciting to watch him.
