Clean, a review by JimmyTitle : Clean (2005) Overview Follow a dangerous killer and fellow murderers attending a snuff party. Unbeknownst to them, our anti-hero has an agenda to clean up his godforsaken life. The hunters become the hunted and learn the true meaning of fear! My Impression Awesome and original movie from my province, seriously what were you expecting from me... I had a lot of respect for all the Canadian filmakers who make their films without the need of government subsidy (they are so rare in our money sucking entertainment industry) and who probably make a better profit because they take chances. But since this isn't a political forum, I'll review the film (but I could write pages about those money leeches)... Like I've said the film theme is original, a serial killer who decides to redeem himself by killing a group of killers. Of course none of the actor are well known (very appreciated since we always see the same actor over and over here), but the principal character was familliar to me. Not as an actor but as a singer, it's Marco Calliari the first singer/guitarist of Anonymus (a pretty good alternative rock band from our province) and now doing a solo career in italian. I was surprise since he is a very good actor, not something that I can say for all the actors in the film but we had to understand that the movie was filmed in english and not in french. Talking of french, it was fun for one time to understand everything perfectly since no one talk with an accent. Of course this is only true for me, Sebastien and Eric The special effect without being great are well done and are old school like I prefer them. The film doesn't have a boring second and it goes real fast. I like the score also that made me remember the good time when I was partying at l'Express (an alternative bar who doesn't exist anymore from my city). Sometimes I'm proud to be a French Canadian and this film is one of those time Rating : (From Jimmy's 2009 Horror Marathon on October 23rd, 2009) Synecdoche, New York, a review by Silence_of_LambsSummary: Theater director Caden Cotard (Philip Seymour Hoffman) is mounting a new play. Fresh off of a successful production of Death of a Salesman, he has traded in the suburban blue-hairs and regional theater of Schenectady for the cultured audiences and bright footlights of Broadway. Armed with a MacArthur grant and determined to create a piece of brutal realism and honesty, something into which he can put his whole self ... My Thoughts: This might have been the shortest review I'll ever write: But seriously: Kaufmann is continuing his path to abstract reality. I'm not aware of any movie this could be compared to, except for possibly Adaptation., which nevertheless is on a completely different level. This piece of art is not easy to follow and I took a second go directly after the first and I'm still not sure if I got the message of the film (if there is any). It left me stunned and at the same time yearning for a third go which I will enjoy as much as the first two ... Ingalls (Writer), Gene Roddenberry (Original Characters By) Director: Gerd Oswald Cast: William Shatner (Kirk), Leonard Nimoy (Mr. Spock), Robert Brown (Lazarus), DeForest Kelley (Dr. McCoy), Janet MacLachlan (Charlene Masters), Nichelle Nichols (Uhura), Richard Derr (Barstow), Arch Whiting (Assistant Engineer), Christian Patrick (Transporter Chief), Eddie Paskey (Lesley) I never really liked this episode. I find it boring. Some guy is in conflict with his anti-matter universe self. Rating: (From Tom's Random Star Trek Reviews on October 27th, 2011) |
