Drag Me To Hell, a review by addicted2dvdDrag Me To Hell Christine Brown (Alison Lohman) is on her way to having it all: a devoted boyfriend (Justin Long), a hard-earned job promotion, and a bright future. But when she's forced to make a tough decision that evicts an elderly woman from her house, Christine becomes the victim of an evil curse. Now she has only three days to dissuade a dark spirit from stealing her soul before she is dragged to hell for an eternity of unthinkable torment. Director Sam Raimi (Spider-Man and The Evil Dead Trilogy) returns to the horror genre with a vengeance in the film that critics rave is "the most crazy, fun and terrifying horror movie in years!" (Owen Gleiberman, Entertainment Weekly) My Thoughts: OK... this one I enjoyed. Though some of it was gag-worthy. Not gory mind you... just the idea of some of this stuff was pretty stomach turning disgusting. I do have to say the ending was pretty predictable.... but even though I seen it coming I still enjoyed watching it. This is not a movie for serious scares. It is more the "just fun to watch" type of entertainment. I will say that I kinda missed Bruce Campbell (or did I actually just miss him?) in this one... as he usually does at least a guest appearance in most all Raimi movies I have seen so far. It is one I will definitely have to see about adding to my collection before too long. My Rating: Out of a Possible 5 (From Weekend Movie Marathon: On Demand on May 23rd, 2010) Creepshow, a review by addicted2dvdTitle: Creepshow Movie Count: 15 TV Ep. Count: 6 Other Count: 2 Time Started: 4pm Plot:My Thoughts: This is one of my favorite anthology movies. Sure... some of it is right silly but... even so for the most part all the segments are just fun to watch. I think my favorite segment was the one where "A scheming husband plants two lovers up to their necks in terror."... this was the one where Leslie Neilson buried the couple to their necks in the sand on the beach... waiting for the high tide to come. That one then followed closely by the "crated creature" Fluffy. My least favorite has to be the last segment... the one about the bugs. I mean it was ok... just nothing special. But of course I enjoyed all the segments. Normally it is the wrap around story that loses my attention. But this is one of the few that I actually enjoy. My Rating Out of a Possible 5 (From Month Long Horror/Halloween Marathon: 2009 on October 7th, 2009) Tom's Random Star Trek Reviews, a review by TomStar Trek: Deep Space Nine 6.24 Time's Orphan Writer: Bradley Thompson (Screenwriter), David Weddle (Screenwriter), Joe Menosky (Original Material By) Director: Allan Kroeker Cast: Avery Brooks (Captain Sisko), Rene Auberjonois (Odo), Michael Dorn (Lt. Commander Worf), Terry Farrell (Lt. Commander Dax), Cirroc Lofton (Jake Sisko), Colm Meaney (Chief O'Brien), Armin Shimerman (Quark), Alexander Siddig (Doctor Bashir), Nana Visitor (Major Kira), Rosalind Chao (Keiko), Michelle Krusiec (Older Molly), Hana Hatae (Molly), Shaun Bieniek (Deputy), Randy James (Security) O'Brien's daughter Molly falls through a time portal and lands hundreds of years in the past. When they are able to retrieve her, ten years have passed for her, living and surviving alone in the wilderness. Which of course causes her problems adjusting again to her live on DS9. It is a good episode. Even though the ending is a little cop out. Rating: (From Tom's Random Star Trek Reviews on November 27th, 2011) |
