Romeo Must Die, a review by RichRomeo Must Die They've got the weapons. They've got the posses. And they've got no chance against former Hong Kong cop Han Sing. Gravity-warping martial arts, cool visual effects and an all-star music track combine in this revved-up action movie from producer Joel Silver ('The Matrix') and starring Jet Li ('Lethal Weapon 4') in his first english-language lead role. Li plays rough-and-ready Han, who shares an attraction with Trish O'Day (screen-debuting songstress Aaliyah) even though their families are rivals in a fierce Oakland turf battle. The two also share plenty of danger as they try to find the real cause of the blood feud. No gun, no posse? No problem. With Jet Li going to war as only he can, 'Romeo Must Die' is alive and kicking. Some great action scenes, and some funny moments with for once one-liners from Jet Li that don't make you cringe. The storyline isn't up to too much but what would you expect, with a twist so obvious you could spot it from the moon. All in all good entertainment, nice blend of fighting violence and special effects which impressed. (From Riches Random Reviews on May 22nd, 2009) Elizabeth, a review by goodguy
IMDb Summary: A film of the early years of the reign of Elizabeth I of England and her difficult task of learning what is necessary to be a monarch. I don't know and don't care much about Bollywood movies, but I often enjoy a certain eclecticism, a merging of styles. Infusing an Elizabethan history drama and its medieval locations with Indian flair surely makes for one gorgeous looking movie. The plot is intriguing without being too much distracted by historical accuracy. At the center of it is a bravura performance by Cate Blanchett, who makes Elisabeth's transformation interesting and believable. Great stuff. Plot: The Historic Second Series England 1558-1603. The filthy genes of the Blackadder dynasty bubble back to the surface of the melting pot of history as Lord Edmund, arrogant peer-about-town, swaggers back with a big head and small beard in search of grace and favour from stark raving mad Queen Bess. Accompanied by a small rabble of be-ruffed riff-raff - bottom-breath Baldrick and pea-brained Percy - the serpentine Lord Blackadder lower the whole tone of England's Golden Age. Black Adder Series 2.06 Chains Writer: Richard Curtis (Writer), Ben Elton (Writer) Director: Mandie Fletcher Cast: Rowan Atkinson (Edmund Blackadder), Tim McInnerny (Lord Percy), Tony Robinson (Baldrick), Miranda Richardson (Queen Elizabeth I), Stephen Fry (Lord Melchett), Patsy Byrne (Nursie), Hugh Laurie (Prince Ludwig), Max Harvey (Torturer), Mark Arden (1st Guard), Lee Cornes (2nd Guard) This is probably my favorite Blackadder series. And also the final episode is great. It also has an unexpected twist at the end. This episode guest-stars Hugh Laurie, you will become a regular in the third series.
