A New Leaf, a review by Antares

A New Leaf (1971) 78/100The PlagueHarold and Maude and Kind Hearts and Coronets as two of my all time favorite films. A New Leaf, which has its moments of brilliance, almost ranks right up there with both of those great films. Walter Matthau is excellent as the spoiled trust fund baby with the Monsieur Verdoux complex, but my favorite character has to be George Rose as the sympathetic butler. As I was watching, I kind of wondered if his character was the basis for the Hobson role in ArthurTeal = Masterpiece
Dark Green = Classic or someday will be
Lime Green = A good, entertaining film
Orange = Average
Red = Cinemuck
Brown = The color of crap, which this film is

My Thoughts:
I just finished watching this one. And I enjoyed it quite a bit. It is a romantic comedy so I went into it figuring how it would end... just had to watch the journey. But no... not this time. It actually throws a bit of a curve ball and goes with the unexpected. This movie stars Brittany Murphy... I have now seen a few of her movies and I must say.... I am starting to become a fan. It is a shame she passed away at such a young age. This one has an entertaining storyline. It seemed to go by rather quickly... always a good sign when watching a movie. I liked Kathy Bates as the Talk Show host. Holly Hunter was good too... though the voice she was using for this role was a little on the weird side. Definitely worth watching... glad I have it in my collection... thanks to a generous friend that gave it to me!

14. I've Got You Under My Skin
Original Air Date: 2/15/2000
An exorcism Angel and Wesley perform on a young boy possessed by a demon takes an unexpected turn when they discover just how much the demon wanted out.

Guest Stars:
Elisabeth Rohm
Will Kempe
Katy Boyer
Anthony Cistaro
Jesse James

My Thoughts:
This is one I enjoyed a lot. Sure... it is a rip off of The Exorcist. But it is a good one. I really enjoyed the storyline. And the effects were done well. And I liked how they made it that the demon wanted nothing more then to be released from the boy.
