My Thoughts: While I enjoyed this miniseries... it wasn't as good as most I have seen come from Stephen King. The odd part is I really can't put my finger on what problem I had with it. The cast was good... as was the storyline. But it just didn't feel up to par with what I have come to expect from Stephen King. But this one is worth the time put in to watch it. Just try to lower your expectations a little before watching. My Rating: Scorecard: TV Eps: 23 Movies: 13 (From Month Long Horror/Halloween Marathon on October 12th, 2014) The Frighteners, a review by DragonfireThe Frighteners In the sleepy little town of Fairwater, a monstrous evil has awakened... an evil so powerful, its reach extends beyond the grave. Director Peter Jackson and Executive Producer Robert Zemeckis unleash a riveting thriller with the most spectacular special effects this side of the hereafter. For Frank Bannister (Michael J. Fox), death is a great way to make a living: ridding haunted houses of their unwelcome "guests." But he's in cahoots with the very ghosts he promised to evict! It's the perfect scam... until Frank finds himself at the center of a dark mystery. A diabolical spirit is on a murderous rampage... and the whole town believes Frank is behind it. Boasting music by Danny Elfman, co-starring Trini Alvarado, Jeffrey Combs and John Astin, this supernatural chiller is so fiendishly entertaining, it's scary! My Thoughts I did post a review on Epinions a few years ago. The Frighteners (From Dragonfire's Halloween/Horror Marathon 2009 on October 29th, 2009) Pete's Pilots, a review by addicted2dvdMedium Pilot Wife, mother, and psychic Allison DuBois (Patricia Arquette) can communicate with the dead and is convinced she can use her gift to help solve crimes. She's put to the test when she gets a call from the Texas Rangers. My Thoughts: This is one of my favorite current series. This series is what made me a fan of Patricia Arquette. This DVD set has both the Network Version as well as an extended version of the pilot. Today I watched the Extended version... which has about an extra five minutes. This is a good introduction to the characters. I like how they did her husband in this show... while he supports her and believes in what she can do... he also is quick to remind her that she can't believe that everything in her dreams are meant to be true.
