El Ataque de los Muertos sin Ojos, a review by Jimmy

Title : El Ataque de los Muertos sin Ojos (1973)

Overview
On the 500th anniversary of their execution, the blind horsemen rise from their tombs to wreak bloody revenge on the town that condemned them.

My ImpressionRating :

Number of film watch : 29

The english version had 4 minutes cut and I've never watched it even if it's on the disc, so I can't tell what is missing.

Edit
I say frequently that the imdb board users are not really brilliant and watching the board for this movie I've seen this gem of a question : "IS this a sequel to Raimi's classic?". Didn't look that stupid since the dvd title is Return of the Evil Dead but;

1. When you are on every imdb film board you can read the title and production year of the film,
2. the board is "Board: Ataque de los muertos sin ojos, El (1973)",
3. by that we can logically deduct that this movie was made in 1973,
4. The Evil Dead was made in 1981.

So we have 2 solutions :
Amando de Ossorio had used a time travel machine in 1981 to go back in 1973 to direct the sequel of a movie that will exist only 8 years later

or

OrlandoEastwood (the user who ask the question) is an idiot.

Blank Check, a review by KinkyCyborg

Title:Blank Check
Year: 1994

Length: 93 Min.
Video: Full Frame 1.33:1
Audio: English: Dolby Digital: 2-Channel Stereo, French: MPEG-2: 2-Channel Stereo, Spanish: MPEG-2: 2-Channel Stereo
Subtitles:

Stars:

Karen Duffy

Michael Faustino

Plot:Extras:
Scene Access
Closed Captioned

My Thoughts:

Totally implausible Disney film about a boy who comes by a blank check and cashes it for a million dollars.

Some funny bits, but not many.  The highlight of this one was Rick Ducommun, better known as the nosy neighbor Art from The Burbs. He's one of those comedian actors who they don't even give a script to... they just let him improvise his lines just to see what he is going to say and it is often hilarious!

I'm used to seeing Miguel Ferrer play a sleazeball, and he does it quite well, but in a 'G' rated family movie it stinks of blasphemy. It's rare to see an actor who normally plays hardened criminals or scumbags make the transition to family fare and make it work. Joe Pesci pulled it off in the Home Alone flicks, but that was a rare exception.

Kids in the 6-12 age group might like this and have some laughs, but for just about anyone else it's sure to be a bore.

My PILOT Marathon, a review by Rich

BONES - SEASON ONE - PILOT

In the series premiere, Dr. Temperance Brennan (or "Bones" as she is often referred to as), a forensic anthropologist, is met with the task of uncovering the identity of a set of bones which have been deliberately hidden in a lake. However, after identifying the bones, imprisoning the murderer turns out to be a politically sticky business. Bones gets help from FBI Special Agent Seeley Booth, who convinces his boss to let Bones be his partner, since she's an expert in her field.

I viewed this with high expectations having read a lot about the author. Sadly this is definetely not one of the best pilots I've ever seen, I didn't expect to see the main lead punching half the cast and being so 'angry'. I have been informed though this does not continue into the series. The episode was predictable and less dramatic than I anticipated, albeit the ending was good.
Acting was slightly stiff and David Boreanaz's quips didn't work for me, on initial assessment I would classify him/his character as a weakness.
However, despite the overall disappointment, and bearing in mind it was only the pilot episode, I will give the series a chance and watch a few more episodes in the future.
