Friday the 13th - Part 2, a review by addicted2dvd

Title: Friday the 13th - Part 2
Year: 1981

Rating: R
Length: 87 Min.
Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 1.85:1
Audio: English: Dolby Digital: Mono, French: Dolby Digital: Mono

Plot:
Just when you thought it was safe to go back to camp... here's even more heart-pounding terror.

Five years after the horrible blood bath at Camp Crystal Lake, all that remains is the legend of Jason Voorhees and his demented mother, who had murdered seven camp counselors. At the nearby summer camp, the new counselors are unconcerned about the warnings to stay away from the infamous site. Carefree, the young people roam the area, not sensing the ominous lurking presence. One by one, they are attacked and brutally slaughtered. Suspense and screams abound in this compelling thriller.

Extras:
Scene Access
Closed Captioned

My Thoughts:
The second movie in the series is a good one. This one Jason doesn't have his infamous hockey mask yet. Instead it is a burlap sack. I am enjoying this one just as much as the first... if not a hair better. These films seem to strike a good nostalgia cord for me. It seems  that no movies brings back the '80s for me more then the Friday the 13th movies for some reason.

Out of a Possible 5

Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous, a review by addicted2dvd

Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous
Sandra Bullock returns as Special Agent Gracie Hart in a funny, fabulous 'Miss Congeniality' follow up. This time, she's the bureau's new celebrity face, making the rounds of talk shows (her heroics at the Miss United States Beauty Pageant made her too famous for field work). She also has a new partner (Regina King), an agent with anger-management issues and a dim opinion of pampered Gracie. But when Gracie's friends (returning stars Heather Burns and William Shatner) are kidnapped, nothing can keep Special Agent GS13 out of the action. Look out world. The cover girl is going back undercover!

My Thoughts:
The first movie was just not enough of Sandra Bullock yet... so just had to pop in part 2. This one I don't feel was as good as the first one... but was definitely enjoyable. I liked the addition of Regina King... thought her character was a good addition since they changed Sandra Bullock's character so much.

My Thoughts:
A couple days ago the mood hit for me to watch some Smallville again. So I pulled out the first season set. Watched the entire set in 2 days! Now does that mean I will watch the entire series again... I don't know... after all there is 10 seasons.  But I did already start the second season. I must say I enjoyed revisiting the first season episodes again. The entire cast looks so young! But that is to be expected from a series that lasted so long. Chloe remains my favorite character. But they are all good. I really didn't care for the portrayal of Lex Luthor early in the series.... don't know why, just expected something different I guess. But he quickly grew on me. A very good start to an excellent series!
