A Life Less Ordinary, a review by RichTitle: A Life Less Ordinary Runtime:104 Certificate:R Year:1997 Genres:Romance, Comedy, Adventure Plot:My Review: A hotch-potch Danny Boyle film, rather tedious with ill-casted leads, minimal comedy, zero romance, and a boring silly storyline. After Shallow Grave and Trainspotting, this was a directors low point. After a good start, it went downhill, and only the claymation sequences at the end piqued general interest. Rather odd overall, it never shines in any specific area, and you feel no affinity to the cast. Best part of the film is definately the soundtrack, which mixes some great music together and works really well. My Rating (From DCO third annual November Alphabet Marathon - discussion/review/banter thread on November 14th, 2009) American Pie, a review by DragonfireHere's the uncensored version of America's #1 comedy hit, re-edited to include the scenes you couldn't see in theaters. You'll never look at warm apple pie the same way again! American Pie takes a hysterical look at the goal of four "unlucky in love" high school friends who make the ultimate pact: lose their virginity by prom night. As they try to manipulate their way into the...hearts of some of their classmates, their plans often backfire with hilarity. Follow the raging hormones of four teenage boys and their girls as they gear up for the most important night of their lives...the prom? My Thoughts This is a funny, mostly entertaining movie. I've seen it several times now and still enjoy it, though it definitely isn't a movie for everyone. Most of the humor is rather crude and has the potential to offend people. Anyone that doesn't care for that type of humor should stay away from the movie. The plot is fairly simple, though it still manages to be entertaining. The characters are fine for the most part. Jim is likable. His dad is a wonderful character. Oz and Finch are fine. Stiffler is a bit of a jerk. Kevin didn't bother me the first few times I saw the movie, but he annoys me now. The girls aren't around as much so they don't add as much to the movie. I really don't like Vicky. There are a lot of sexual situations in the movie, including a rather unique one involving a pie, but there really aren't any actual sex scenes and only a small amount of nudity. The sexual content could bother some people. Overall, the movie is funny and entertaining. I did get a review posted on Epinions if anyone wants to take a look. Stars: Alyssa Milano as Phoebe Halliwell Rose McGowan as Paige Matthews Holly Marie Combs as Piper Halliwell Brian Krause as Leo Wyatt Dorian Gregory as Inspector Darryl Morris Drew Fuller as Chris Extras:
My Thoughts: This evening I finished off the 6th season. While this season has a lot of very good episodes in it... it don't have quite as many as the previous season. Drew Fuller is added to the main cast this season as Chris... a witch/whitelighter from the future there to save baby Wyatt from turning evil. Which is the main storyline for this season. Picking a favorite episode from this season is near impossible as I liked so many... but some of my favorites for this season include...1. Valhalley of the Dolls, Parts 1 & 2 10. Witchstock 13. The Legend of Sleepy Halliwell 14. I Dream of Phoebe 20. Witch Wars 21. It's a Bad, Bad, Bad, Bad World, Parts 1 & 2 Unfortunately there is no series related extras in this set. But the episodes themselves are more then worth the money you would have to pay for the set. My Rating: Out of a Possible 5 (From Addicted2dvd's Random TV Series Watched on April 18th, 2012) |
