Land of the Lost, a review by addicted2dvdTitle: Land of the Lost Year: 2009 Director: Brad Silberling Rating: PG-13 Length: 102 Min. Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 1.85:1 Audio: English: Dolby Digital: 5.1, Spanish: Dolby Digital: 5.1, French: Dolby Digital: 5.1 Subtitles: English, French, Spanish Stars: Will Ferrell Anna Friel Danny McBride Jorma Taccone John Boylan Matt Lauer Plot: Comedic genius Will Ferrell stars as has-been scientist Dr. Rick Marshall, who gets more than he bargained for when his expedition takes a wrong turn into the Land of the Lost. Now, Marshall, his crack-smart research assistant Holly (Anna Friel) and a redneck survivalist named Will (Danny McBride), have no weapons, few skills and questionable smarts to survive in a world full of marauding dinosaurs, fantastic creatures and laugh-out-loud comedy! Extras: Scene Access Audio Commentary Bonus Trailers Deleted Scenes Featurettes My Thoughts: This is the second time I watched this movie since I bought it. I grew up with the TV Series it is based on so that definitely added some value for me. I was somewhat surprised to see they changed it from a family on a camping trip to a scientist, his assistant and a guide. I think I would have preferred if it was more like the series in this regard... but I was still able to enjoy the movie. The fact that Will Farrell is the star is something else that had me nervous as to me he has always been a very hit and miss actor... I don't like half the stuff I see him in. he movie really is a lot of fun. A non-sense type of fun... but fun nonetheless. Some of it had me laughing out loud... but then again some of it had me shaking my head in disbelief. And I definitely got a kick out of both Chaka and Grumpy. But overall it was more entertaining then anything. Though I will say that for me it did go down hill a bit towards the end. Over-all I am glad I have it in my collection... and I can see myself watching it again. And I wasn't completely convinced otherwise, which will probably be incomprehensible to most of you. I simply have a hard time keeping interest in the ongoings in a movie, when there isn't a single character I can sympathise with. But I have to admit, that at the end I got curious about the second movie. It looks like it could be really interesting. The first movie seems to be a three-hour build-up to it. Reunion Original Air Date: 12/19/2000 Angel goes on a frantic search after Drusilla turns Darla back into a vampire, and he must catch them before she rises again and the two go back to their old ways and paint the town red. Guest Stars: Elisabeth Rohm Christian Kane Stephanie Romanov Sam Anderson Julie Benz as Darla Juliet Landau My Thoughts: Another excellent episode. I really enjoyed every minute of this one. I especially enjoyed seeing the newly vamped Darla back together with Drusilla. I been meaning to mention Cordelia's new haircut for the past few episodes. I do not care much for it at all... shorter and darker. It just don't look right to me. My Rating: (From Angel Marathon on March 4th, 2010) |
