Wild Hogs, a review by addicted2dvd
Stars: Tim Allen as Doug Madsen John Travolta as Woody Stevens Martin Lawrence as Bobby Davis William H. Macy as Dudley Frank Ray Liotta as Jack Marisa Tomei as Maggie Plot: Tim Allen, John Travolta, Martin Lawrence and Willilam H. Macy star in Wild Hogs, the hysterically funny comedy about four weekend-warrior friends who decide to rev up their ho-hum suburban lives with a cross-country motorcycle adventure. They don their leathers, fire up their hogs and throw caution and their cell phones to the wind as they hit the open highway. But a lot can happen on the road to nowhere, including a run-in with the bad-to-the-bone Del Fuegos, a real biker gang who don't take kindly on wannabes. Filled with hilarious misadventures, screwball situations and madcap mayhem, this laugh-out-loud comedy is a movie your family will go hog wild over. Extras:
My Thoughts: This is another one I watched with Brittany. We both enjoyed it quite a bit. We literally laughed out loud more then once during this film. I always did find Tim Allen to be funny.... the same goes for Martin Lawrence. Even John Travolta had a few good laughs here... and I don't normally think of him as comedic. I personally never cared much for William H. Macy.... but I even liked him in this one. If you never had the chance to check it out... I would recommend this one.TV Stars in this Film: Tim Allen: Home Improvement John Travolta: Welcome Back Kotter William H. Macy: Shameless My Rating: Out of a Possible 5 (From Weekend Movie Marathon: TV Stars in the Movies on April 20th, 2013) Fantastic Mr. Fox, a review by dfmorgan
Year: 2009 Director: Wes Anderson Cast: George Clooney, Meryl Streep, Bill, Murray, Jason Schwartzman Overview: GEORGE CLOONEY and MERYL STREEP lend their voices to this hilarious and heartwarming animated adventure from director WES ANDERSON. Mr. and Mrs. Fox (CLOONEY and STREEP) live a happy home life with their eccentric son Ash (JASON SCHWARTZMAN) and visiting nephew Kristofferson. That is until Mr. Fox slips into his sneaky, old ways and plots the greatest chicken heist the animal world has ever seen. Based on the beloved, best-selling book by ROALD DAHL (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory), Fantastic Mr. Fox is family fun at its very finest. This edition of Fantastic Mr. Fox contains a Blu-Ray, DVD and a Digital Copy - for you to enjoy this film wherever and whenever you want! Watched: 7th Mar 2010 My Thoughts: Another animation, stop motion this time. Although I have heard of Roald Dahl I haven't read any of his works so came cold into this story. I found it quite enjoyable with the voices lending a comforting tone to the on-screen action, George Clooney as the charming rogue Mr. Fox and Meryl Streep as his counterpoint Mrs. Fox. The humour seemed to be pitched at just the right level without going over the top and when necessary reigned back in for the sadder moments, although there weren't too many of those. My Rating: Thoroughly Enjoyable 4 Dave (From Dave's DVD/Blu-ray Reviews on March 7th, 2010) "Due South" marathon, a review by Tom2.03 The Witness (1995-12-14) Writer: Paul Haggis (Created By), Peter Mohan (Writer) Director: George Bloomfield Cast: Paul Gross (Constable Benton Fraser), David Marciano (Detective Ray Vecchio), Beau Starr (Lt. Some fun moments like Fraser trying to steal something. Rating: 2.04 Bird in the Hand (1995-12-21) Writer: Paul Haggis (Created By), Paul Haggis (Writer) Director: Paul Haggis Cast: Paul Gross (Constable Benton Fraser), David Marciano (Detective Ray Vecchio), Beau Starr (Lt. Nash), Stewart Arnott (FBI Agent Borland), Dean McDermott (Constable Turnbull), Gordon Pinsent (Fraser Sr.), Christopher Thomas (Marshall #1), Brian King (Marshall #2), Matt Birman (ATF Agent #1), Branko Racki (ATF Agent #2) A lot of great exchanges between Fraser and his father. Wouldn't it have been for that, it would have been a rather average episode. Also this episode introduces Constable Turnbull for the first time.
