The Italian Stallion, a review by Jimmy

Title : The Italian Stallion (1970)

Overview
Sly plays the part of "Stud" whose world revolves entirely around sex, sex and more sex, an interest he shares with his way - out friends and his girl Kitty who likes her men mean and muscular!!

My Impression
Sometimes you are "obsessed" by a movie with no logic reasons at all. I own 2 version of this movie (one on a dvd-r that I've bought many years ago for more than 30$ and this version released last year because it had the prologue by Gail Palmer), I've 3 different trailers for it and I have a German import of it on my wishlist at xploited cinema because it countains the hardcore insert add later (for this Hershell Savage plays the "part" of Stallone). But the version that I really dream to own is the original version name The Party at Kitty and Stud's, evidently this is an impossible dream since this movie is lost (the original print was destroyed by Bryanston to make the version that we have now).

First thing first : this is not a pornographic movie at all, this is just a softcore New York exploitation movie like many others in my library. What to say about the story? Not really much since the editing had removed everything that could be a plot. So we can say that Kitty and Stud are obsessed with each others and they have a party with four of their friends where the six of them have an orgy.

The acting is really poor (but Stallone act better in this than in most of his other movies) this is not for nothing if all the other credited member of the cast had made one movie. In fact the only experienced actress in the movie is Marie Brent (I have a lot of movie with her), she is not credited and she play a non important role (at least in this version). The cast is not really good looking too, only Henrietta Holm had a good body on the 4 actresses but she doesn't really have a beautifull face. The dialogue is funny (certainly not intentional) with some gem like "I'll be velvet-mouthed on your shank of love!". The theme song is good too.

Like I've said don't expect too much of this. There are a lot of nudity by not so great looking peoples but if you are a Stallone completist this is a movie that you'll need in your library and, to be honest, he act better in this than he does in Rambo 2 or 3.

I've almost attach some pictures of Stallone for Kathy and Laura, but I've seen the deluge of  :yellowcard: :redcard: :yucky: in my head and that made me change my idea

Dance of the Dead, a review by addicted2dvd

Dance of the Dead
With Prom only hours away, the usual suspects of Cosa High (cheerleaders, geeks, bad boys and the happy-go-lucky student council alike) are preoccupied with the annual rituals of teendom. On the night of the big dance when the dead unexpectedly rise to eat the living, polar opposite groups will be forced to unite in their final chance to save the town from the Zombies.

My Thoughts:
This is another Blind Buy that I picked up cheap at Walmart... before even seeing the trailer for it. Matter of fact I see now I barely skimmed the back of the case because I didn't realize till I got it home that it is a Comedy-Horror. Which is no problem at all since I do enjoy those types usually. After the last 3 movies I watched... I am going into this movie hesitantly... as I haven't really had much luck yet with the movies I have watched this weekend. I needed to pull out of this slump! And I am happy to say that this movie did that for me. It is far from the best zombie movie I ever seen. The first half hour setup was a little on the slow side. And the effects were not the best I ever seen. But it was still a fun movie to watch. The comedy in this one wasn't laugh out loud funny... more light-heartedly entertaining. I might have gotten one or 2 small chuckles out of it at the most. But over-all I would feel confident in recommending this move.

My Rating:
Out of a Possible 5

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles: The Complete First Season marathon, a review by Dragonfire

4. Heavy Metal
Cameron discovers a truck loaded with enough metal to build over 500 endoskeletons. Are more Terminators about to be created?

My Thoughts

This was a very good episode.  There were hints of John starting to take more control and make decisions instead of just doing everything his mother said all the time.  Granted, his decision was a bit risky and put him in danger.  I liked seeing John try to take more control, though I also get why Sarah wanted to run.  I also thought it was interesting to see how Skynet was trying to adapt plans to make sure that Judgment Day still happened.  And Cameron offered a brief explanation for how the head and body were still working and how they were programed to repair themselves...which does tie back in to the first movie with how that Terminator was repairing himself.  It still seemed iffy to me how the body could work when the head was so far away, but it isn't bugging me as much since there has been an attempt to explain.

5. Queen's Gambit
A chess contest has the potential to link the Turk and Skynet. Meanwhile, the missing Resistance Fighter appears.

My Thoughts

This was a really good episode.  I think the potential link between the Turk and Skynet made sense.  I liked that Sarah still had some..compassion and didn't want to just start killing everyone who might possibly be connected to Skynet in the future.  Cameron was there for that..lol.  Anyway, the episode was really good and I liked the added connection to Kyle.  At first I was surprised that Derek didn't know more..but then it made sense once I thought about it.

6. Dungeons and Dragons
Derek's consciousness shifts between his injured state in the present and the future he already knows to be true.

My Thoughts

Another really good episode.  I liked seeing bits of the future and what Derek experienced before he traveled back in time.  I'm wondering if something happened to make Derek distrust Cameron, or if he just feels that way because she's a Terminator.  I'm also wondering some other things now too and I'm anxious to finish the last episodes.  It will be hard for me to wait to finish them up.  lol.

I'm really enjoying this show and I'm glad I decided to pick up the DVD set.
