Friday, a review by RichFriday Thoroughly charming and totally hilarious day-in-the-life comedy in which co-writer Ice Cube plays the stoic Craig opposite Chris Tucker's Smokey, a brilliantly rendered hyperactive marijuana enthusiast. The two twentysomethings, Craig recently wrongly fired and Smokey terminally slacking and scamming, barely make it through one highly eventful day. Eloquent commentary on themes like community, family, friendship, and violence is seamlessly blended with lighter treatments of young romance, bathroom emergencies, nosy neighbors and much more. Casually impeccable performances by the entire cast make this film a standout. Scattered with hilarious one-liners, plausible plot and humorous undertone, Chris Tucker steals the film with a great performance. Leave your brain aside, and enjoy some 'in da hood' humour, and occasionally some good music! Extras: Deleted Scenes Music Videos Poster Production Notes Scene Access Trailers My Thoughts: I enjoyed the scenes in the past. I thought that love story was more fun. But I also came to like the present, after I got over Saif Ali Khan's character being rather unlikable. The music was also good.Rating: (From Tom's Random Reviews on June 1st, 2010) My PILOT Marathon, a review by RichMEDIUM - SERIES ONE - PILOT A nice surprise this pilot, I was skeptical as most 'psychic' programmes are typically afternoon runs with old grannies in the leads, but this turns the whole genre on it's head. A seemingly ordinary American family, with a mum (Patricia Arquette perfectly fitting the role) who actually looks like a mother, she unenthusiastically offers her help to solve a crime puzzle in the pilot show. The writing, character exploration and interaction, and all the small details she discovered whilst proving her powers made it great viewing. I'd highly recommend this based on the pilot (From My PILOT Marathon on June 3rd, 2008) |
