Redneck Zombies, a review by addicted2dvd

Jon... you think those are bad... I now present... for your disapproval...

Redneck Zombies
Backwoods hicks mistake barrels of toxic waste for moonshine and become tobacco-chewin', gut-stompin', cannibal kinfolk from hell!! The goriest laugh-riot ever produced.Redneck Zombies is an unforgettable onslaught of dismemberment and human body parts. Now restored to it's glory in an exclusive director's cut!

My Thoughts:
Ok seeing the above I am sure the first thing coming to your mind is why in the hell would I even attempt to watch such garbage. There is no way in the world there could be anything good about this movie. And if it was any movie of equal quality I would definitely agree with you. But in this particular case it is not about the movie at all. This movie was made just down the street from where I live. And even as God-Awful as this movie is... it holds a special place in my heart. First of all because it is fun seeing all the familiar areas. But then there is the fact that Alice Stanely is in this movie. I know... I hear you all saying WHO?!?!?! She is a local woman that used to cut my hair. This is the only thing she did... and she only did it for fun. But for me... it is a lot of fun seeing the woman that used to cut my hair get decapitated.  Ok... so maybe now you know why I enjoy popping this movie in every few years or so.  :P

Now... for the movie itself... As I said before... this is a God-Awful movie. Acting is absolutely terrible... to the point of laughable. The story is ridiculous.... and the effects (which is probably the best thing about the movie itself) is pretty much idiotic. There is no way I would ever recommend this movie to someone else.

My Rating:
Out of a Possible 5

XX/XY, a review by Rich

Title: XX/XY

Runtime:91
Certificate:R
Year:2002
Genres:Drama, Romance, Suspense/Thriller

Plot:They gave in to their deepest desires, but can they overcome their biggest fears? Mark Ruffalo (Windtalkers), Kathleen Robertson ("girls club") and Maya Stange (Garage Days) deliver stunning performances in this steamy, highly charged film that explores the passions of youth...and their inevitable price.
When New York animator Coles (Ruffalo) meets Sam (Stange), the attraction is immediate. And when Sam invites her hot friend Thea (Robertson) to bed with them, it's a dream come true...until ugly secrets destroy the carefree threesome. Ten years later, their very different lives converge again and Coles realizes how much he still loves Sam. but can he risk everything to tell her the naked truth?

My Review:
Moody and dull, a film more in love with itself than in entertaining its viewers.
The menage a trois beginning and the associated partying and emotional outbursts this causes creates a good beginning, but the movie slips into a boring dialogue and obvious conclusion for over an hour to follow. It is an appealing and attractive cast, but none of them are stretched and appear pretty limp with such a humourless script. The characters become too alike, there is no point or message conveyed, and the film loses its way.
Tries to be too intelligent, and lost this passenger after 20 minutes.

The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries
Season 2: Episode 10
Nancy Drew's Love Match
Original Air Date: 11/20/1977
Nancy's in the game of a lifetime when she's asked to watch out for a famous tennis star who may be involved in a racket involving stolen jewels.

My Thoughts:
When this originally aired I was only 8 years old. So I doubt I really appreciated the beauty of a young Pamela Sue Martin at the time. Though I do remember being a huge fan of the series even back then. And of course I as I grew watching the re-runs my appreciation for the lovely Pamela Sue Martin also grew. Her character in this, Nancy Drew, was smart and brave... at the same time remaining sweet as can be. All those qualities made me a huge fan of the Nancy Drew episodes of this series. I still enjoyed The Hardy Boys... but not nearly as much as I did the episodes with Nancy Drew. This episode gives us another female teen heartthrob in Maureen McCormick who was Marcia on The Brady Bunch.  I enjoyed the episode. It is an interesting story.
