Clean, a review by JimmyTitle : Clean (2005) Overview Follow a dangerous killer and fellow murderers attending a snuff party. Unbeknownst to them, our anti-hero has an agenda to clean up his godforsaken life. The hunters become the hunted and learn the true meaning of fear! My Impression Awesome and original movie from my province, seriously what were you expecting from me... I had a lot of respect for all the Canadian filmakers who make their films without the need of government subsidy (they are so rare in our money sucking entertainment industry) and who probably make a better profit because they take chances. But since this isn't a political forum, I'll review the film (but I could write pages about those money leeches)... Like I've said the film theme is original, a serial killer who decides to redeem himself by killing a group of killers. Of course none of the actor are well known (very appreciated since we always see the same actor over and over here), but the principal character was familliar to me. Not as an actor but as a singer, it's Marco Calliari the first singer/guitarist of Anonymus (a pretty good alternative rock band from our province) and now doing a solo career in italian. I was surprise since he is a very good actor, not something that I can say for all the actors in the film but we had to understand that the movie was filmed in english and not in french. Talking of french, it was fun for one time to understand everything perfectly since no one talk with an accent. Of course this is only true for me, Sebastien and Eric The special effect without being great are well done and are old school like I prefer them. The film doesn't have a boring second and it goes real fast. I like the score also that made me remember the good time when I was partying at l'Express (an alternative bar who doesn't exist anymore from my city). Sometimes I'm proud to be a French Canadian and this film is one of those time Rating : (From Jimmy's 2009 Horror Marathon on October 23rd, 2009) Messiah of Evil, a review by addicted2dvdTitle: Messiah of Evil Year: 1973 Director: Willard Huyck Rating: R Length: 90 Min. Video: Pan & Scan 1.33:1 Audio: English: Dolby Digital Stereo Subtitles: N/A Stars: Michael Greer Mariana Hill Joy Bang Anitra Ford Royal Dano Plot: When the messiah of evil returns, the moon will turn red, and the living dead will prowl the night and previously "regular" people will become flesh-eating zombies! Extras: Scene Access My Thoughts: This movie is from a cheap 10 movie horror boxset I got long time ago called Tales of Terror. Unfortunately since it is in a cheap boxset the quality leaves some to be desired. I felt like I was watching an old VHS tape. After watching this movie I am really having a hard time reviewing it. As the movie itself is a bit on the confusing side... especially the ending. The acting could have been better... though not so bad that it was hard to watch. I was really feeling a bit on the disappointed side watching this one... as it seemed slow and pretty boring. there was one scene I did quite enjoy though... a scene in a movie theater. But it really wasn't enough to bring this movie up in scale past just an average movie. Scanlan Cast: Patrick Stewart (Captain Jean-Luc Picard), Jonathan Frakes (Commander William Riker), LeVar Burton (Lt. Geordi La Forge), Denise Crosby (Lt. Tasha Yar), Michael Dorn (Lt. Worf), Gates McFadden (Doctor Beverly Crusher), Marina Sirtis (Counselor Deanna Troi), Brent Spiner (Lt. Commander Data), Wil Wheaton (Wesley Crusher), John de Lancie (Q), Elaine Nalee (Klingon Survivor), William A. Wallace (Wesley (25 years old)) Probably my least favorite TNG Q episode. Though I like all scenes with Q onboard of the Enterprise (especially his interactions with Picard), I do not like the stuff on the planet. Also this episode has some really ridiculous scenes, like Tasha Yar crying because Q send her into the "penalty box" and Picard comforting her with his "now we have a new rule: The chief of security is allowed to cry if she is in the penalty box"-speech.
