Confessions of a Young American Housewife, a review by Jimmy![]() Title : Confessions of a Young American Housewife (1974) Overview Carol (Rebecca Brooke), Anne (Chris Jordan), Eddie and Pete (Eric Edwards) are a swinging suburban quartet. Carol is married to Eddie and Anne to Pete, but that doesn't stop them from swapping partners or initiating hot foursome sex at the drop of their panties. Enter Jennifer Robinson (Jennifer Welles) - Carol's buttoned up mother, in town for a visit. Sporting a voluptuous body and dripping sensuous allure, Jennifer makes an immediate impression upon Pete, Anne and Eddie, who will stop at nothing to have their way with her - individually or in group session. Once Jennifer comes to terms with her daughter's highly sexual lifestyle and lets go of her own inhibitions - look out! - no one will be safe from her erotic charms. Soon it becomes clear that mother and daughter have long-standing issues and an unspoken attraction between one another, which manifest themselves in the most shocking and taboo way. Who will end up with who, and how far will each go to satisfy his or her deepest and wildest sexual urges? My Impression Another excellent Joe Sarno's movie that was for unknown reasons unwatched since I've bought it in may. My comments are the same than the one for Abigail Leslie, but for my great pleasure Chris Jordan had a real role in this. She is not the most gorgeous or glamorous looking girl of this period, but I really like the "girl next door" look. Since a picture is better this is a screen capture of her (she is in the middle between David Hausman and Jennifer Welles). ![]() Like all the Joe Sarno's movies this one is highly recommanded. As a bonus you got a complete CD with the music of those three movies : Confessions of a Young American Housewife, Abigail Lesley Is Back in Town and Misty. Stars: Hayley Mills as Sharon Ferris/Susan Tom Skerritt as Bill Grand Carrie Kei Heim as Nikki Ferris Bridgette Andersen as Mary Grand Alex Harvey as Brian Gloria Cromwell as Florence Plot: First time on DVD! In the full-length sequel The Parent Trap II, Hayley Mills returns to reprise her roles as identical twins Sharon and Susan. Now all grown up, Sharon is a single mom whose 11-year-old daughter Nikki is just as mischievous as she was! During summer school Nikki and her new friend Mary turn into scheming matchmakers when they try to get Sharon and Mary's widowed father together. Not quite able to make it happen, they turn to the one person who can really help -- Sharon's twin Susan! Extras:
My Thoughts: Going by the plot for this one I will admit I was a bit concerned. But I have to say... I enjoyed every minute of it! I really enjoyed the story... and it had several laugh out loud moments for me. I was glad to see this one being Sharon and Susan grown up and getting involved with switching instead of them trying to do the same (or similar) thing with their kids this time. I also liked that they were able to get the same actress to play Sharon and Susan. I also liked that Tom Skerritt is in this movie. I have slowly become a fan of his over the last few years. It is a pleasant surprise that I liked this one almost... if not as much as the first part.My Rating: Out of a Possible 5 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() (From What Movies I Been Watching on July 21st, 2013) "Stargate SG-1" Marathon, a review by DJ DoenaDisc 6 Double Jeopardy Synopsis: SG-1 comes to a planet where the inhabitants declare that they have visted before. Back then they helped to defeat Heru-ur's troops. But now Cronus has come with a Ha'tak and claims the planet for himself. SG-1 gets caught and Daniel gets "killed". Now the Team needs help from themselves. My Opinion: The funny thing about this episode is that one can guess very early where this is going. The android doppelganger are still wearing the HK MP5 as weapons instead of the FN P90 that is been handed out in recent episodes. Additionally Carter is wondering why she's refered to as "Major" and Jack mentions that there are "two" of them. When I first saw this episode I guessed that this is the real team and when Jack mentioned this I thought the androids had been the team that went there first. I liked the episode even though it was sad that all the androids were destroyed. With the death of Cronus another Goa'uld got what he deserved. Exodus Synopsis: With the Ha'tak SG-1 "aquired" from Cronus they fly to the planet of the Tok'ra. The latter want to relocate their Stargate to a planet unknown to the System Lords. But there Tanith - the Goa'uld who deceived Shan'auc - must not go. But then Apophis closes in with a fleet and the Tok'ra develop a very risky plan.My Opinion: The idea to turn a sun into a supernova with the help of a Stargate is an "interesting" plan that is hard to top. But what attrackted my attention in this episode, was something different: It's usual with series that at the beginning of the season some innovations are introduced that were invented by the writers during the break. In Stargate SG-1 this often happens within the last episodes although it wasn't really necessary. For example, the Zats have been introduced in the last episode of the first season, not at the begin of the second. But they didn't really need them back then. The Al'kesh - a Goa'uld bomber - was introduced in this episode although there could have been other ways to continue the plot. The Ha'tak and the memory retrieval device have been introduced in a season finale but they were necessary for the plot, i.e. the plot was based upon them. The Season - My Opinion: Surprisingly there were few direct confrontations with the Goa'uld in this season. Many episodes were playing on Earth or were related to it and the others were Planet-of-the-Week episodes. If one considers that Apophis has the control over Sokar's fleet and is supposedly very powerful, he kept quite still. On the other hand the writer can't find endless ways to let them both clash and SG-1 win. But I liked the Earth episodes and the PotW were mostly ok.
