Return of the Living Dead 3, a review by addicted2dvd

Title: Return of the Living Dead 3
Year: 1993
Director: Brian Yuzna
Rating: R
Length: 97 Min.
Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 1.85:1
Audio: English: Dolby Digital: 2-Channel Stereo, Commentary: Dolby Digital: 2-Channel Stereo, Commentary: Dolby Digital: 2-Channel Stereo
Subtitles: English, French, Spanish

Stars:
Kent McCord
James T. Callahan
Sarah Douglas
Melinda Clarke [Mindy Clarke]
Abigail Lenz
J. Trevor Edmond

Plot:
In "Return of the Living Dead Part II," the chemical Trioxin turned people into flesh eating zombies. Now the government is trying to control these unstoppable cannibalistic killers.

The splatter-fest starts when a young man uses the chemical to bring his girlfriend back to life. It's a state of the art special effects show as she starts a chain reaction of the living dead by eating the only thing that will nourish her... human brains.

Extras:
Scene Access
Audio Commentary
Feature Trailers
Bonus Trailers
Closed Captioned

My Thoughts:
This sequel is done with less comedy. At least with less intentional and obvious comedy. While I still like the first one better... this one is better then part 2. The way the character Julie (Mindy Clarke) mutilated herself is both wild and disturbing at the same time. Definitely worth a viewing.

My Rating
Out of a Possible 5

Hide and Seek, a review by addicted2dvd

Weekend Movie Marathon
Unwatched DVDs
What with Christmas being next week I thought I better get my Unwatched shelf cleared off some... as there is no room left for any new DVDs I may get. So this weekend I watched...

Hide and Seek
'Robert De Niro' and 'Dakota Fanning' send pulses racing in this "genuine scare-fest" ('The Calgary Sun') that delivers terrifying twists and a shocking surprise ending.

At their new home in upstate New York, newly widowed psychologist David Callaway (De Niro) tries desperately to help his traumatized daughter Emily (Fanning) deal with her mother's death. But before lone, both David and Emily are being terrorized by someone - or 'something' - named Charlie: a "friend" who may or may not be imaginary but is definitely the stuff nightmares are made of! Ready or not... "you'll be jumping out of your seat!" (Richard Roeper)

My Thoughts:
According to some reviews and sites I read this movie seems not to be very popular. I, myself enjoyed it. Granted it is not the best suspense thriller I ever seen.. and the ending was fairly predictable... but it did keep my interest through-out the whole movie. On this DVD you can watch the movie with any of several alternate endings. I chose to watch it this time with the theatrical release ending... but I didn't watch any of the other endings as of yet because I would rather be able to watch it on the movie the next few times I watch the movie... this way I can have a somewhat new experience each time I watch it. Anyway... good movie... but not the best the genre has to offer... so a Thanks to my friend that sent this one to me... will definitely be getting watched again!

Tales from the Crypt: Season 1

2. And All Through the House
On Christmas Eve a woman slaughters her husband and learns that she's on Santa's naughty list when an escaped maniac dressed as Santa Claus shows up at her doorstep with a special present for her.

Guest Stars:
Mary Ellen Trainor
Larry Drake
Marshall Bell
Lindsey Whitney Barry

My Thoughts:
Of course being a Christmas episode this time we have the Cryptkeeper dressed like Santa. Now this episode I enjoyed more then I did the first one. Matter of fact it remains on of my favorite episodes. This episode also made me a fan of Larry Drake in horrors. I know Christmas is on the way when I watch this episode!
