Ashanti, a review by Richa quick yodel in switzerland... Dr. David Linderby and his wife Anansa are carrying out an inoculation program in a small African village when Anansa disappears. The police can do nothing to find her and David has almost given up hope when he hears a rumor that Anansa has been kidnapped by a slave trader called Sulelman, to be sold to an Arab prince How can a director go from Soylent Green to this? Dire script, poor acting, laughable accent by the normally reliable Ustinov as the Arab slaver, and Caine looking totally uninterested. Only overshadowed by the worst acting ever seen by model Beverly Johnson as the kidnapped wife, and the cheesy cameos by end of career actors Sharif and Harrison. Avoid this unless on pain of death - 2/10 (From Around the World in 80 DVD's on January 7th, 2008) Thunderbirds, a review by TomTitle: Thunderbirds Year: 2004 Director: Jonathan Frakes Rating: PG Length: 91 Min. Directed by Jonathan Frakes (Star Trek Insurrection; Star Trek: First Contact) and starring Ben Kingsley (Schindler's List, Gandhi), Bill Paxton (Apollo 13, Twister) and Anthony Edwards (E.R.), Thunderbirds blasts into action with extraordinary vehicles and brave young heroes. Extras: Commentary Featurettes Interactive Game Music Videos Scene Access Trailers My Thoughts: As a kid I sometimes watched the original series when I happen to catch it on TV, but I never really followed it. This movie, though having good effects and good production values, is nothing remarkable. The problem with it is, that it seems solely targeted at kids, and not to the now adult fans of the original series. The looks of Lady Penelope very much reminded me of Sarah from Chuck. Although she is played by Sophia Miles who I know from Outlander. Rating: (From Tom's Random Reviews on June 27th, 2010) That '70s Show: Season Two, a review by addicted2dvd

My Thoughts: I just finished season 2... I went through this season in no time. And am enjoying the series even more. Tommy Chong (Cheech & Chong) was in several episodes of this season. He made a pretty good addition to the cast. Once again I can't decide which episode would be my favorite of the season as they were all good... but if pushed I would probably go with the 2 part episode where Donna and Eric loose their virginity. I would love to go straight to season 3... but don't have it yet. Hopefully I will be able to get it before too long.My Rating: Out of a Possible 5 (From Addicted2dvd's Random TV Series Watched on January 23rd, 2012) |
