10. Eragon (hmmm...if a dragon is an animal)Interesting question. Are mystical creatures animals? What about vampires? Werewolves?
I'd say no. Sorry, Kathy. :P
Fantasy creatures may or may not be given the power of speech or communication, but it is a contrivance by the author all the same. In other words, the communication is two-way and accepted as normal within the logic of that particular fantasy... ??? :weirdo: In the spirit of Rick's original suggestion, I think it should only be creatures that we know to be real, even if they are presented in a fantasy, or even animated, world.
And before you ask, Kathy, I'm afraid dragons aren't real, regardless of what you saw that strange night in '73. :tease:
But...but...but...I'm a "star". I thought "stars" always get their own way. :laugh:You are at least a five-star. :yu:

2. Lost in Translation (starts as crap and finishes as really, really crap)
Dear Sir,
I wish to complain about a misapplied genre situation. I think you will find that the before mentioned "Lost In Translation" did not change genre half way through; it starts, continues and ends, firmly in the 'Sublime' genre. Please remove it from the list forthwith, or I shall be forced to take action. My action will start within the 'Threats, Stalking and Voodoo' genre, and end in the 'Beating about the head with an over-large trout' genre.
Many thanks.

I'm in two minds whether to disallow Sixth Sense, Others and Casper or not as they are all ghosts and therefore technically undead. What do you guys think?
Edit: is the character in Lovely Bones also a ghost? Or am I being way too strict and harsh?

Nope, not by my definition. There's a lot of singing, but the songs don't tell the story...

Thank you, Achim. The question was very specific and there are moments in The Blues Brothers that is traditionally musical, but nowhere near enough and even then they just feed into songs that were properly written to be songs. I can prove it. I love The Blues Brothers. I hate musicals... ;)
I noticed in the other thread how much Ray is referred to as a musical and it is, but only in the sense it is about music and contains a lot of music performances.Haven't seen it, but I am sure Ray is not a musical.
