Superhero Movie, a review by addicted2comics

well, haven't posted in a while, but I got two more reviews for you all. First up:

Superhero Movie

The Plot: This is a spoof of superhero movies from the Marvel Universe, but none more than Spider-Man, or in this case, the Dragonfly. Thia also features the Fantastic Four and the X-Men spoofs, all intertwining to defeat the Hourglass.

My Thoughts: Superhero Movie, I have to admit was pretty funny. I know a lot of the jokes could be considered tired, but there are jokes in it that you know you caught yourself wondering while watching the other movies, like "That must be a really tall building if they are still falling" or "How can he see/breathe through that mask?" Still, I'm not a fan of this type of comedies as a whole, so that's pushing me away a little. I'll give it a 3.5 out of 5.

Adam's simple childhood has been filled with Perry Como records, The Honeymooners re-runs and good old-fashioned family values. Now, 35 years later, Adam is about to emerge into a bewildering modern world in search of supplies and a simple girl from Pasadena. Instead, Adam meets Eve (Alicia Silverstone, Clueless) a modern LA woman, jaded about life and burned by love. The result is "an engaging romantic comedy that's charming, funny and hip!"

My Thoughts:
I know it's a little stretch to include this in my time-travel marathon, but for me this has a little time-travel movie feeling to it. The fallout shelter is the "time-travel" device. And we have people out of their time in a fish-out-of-the-water scenario.
I always loved this movie. I think it is too bad that Alica Silverstone didn't make more romantic comedies.
This was also the movie that I really took notice of Christopher Walken the first time. He is just fun to watch as Adam's dad.

My Pilot/Finale Episode Marathon, a review by addicted2dvd

Angel

Pilot:
City oft
Newly arrived in Los Angeles, Angel is befriended by a half-demon named Doyle who visions lead him to a powerful vampire whose next victim just may be Cordelia Chase.

My Thoughts:
This is the start of yet another great series. Watching this episode I was so tempted to continue on through out the whole series. But I knew that I had started this marathon... so this is the one I had to complete. I think my favorite part of this episode was when Cordilia was in the home of that vampire and Angel came to help her... and she said something to the effect of "You don't know who that is do you... ohhhh you are going to get your ass kicked!" That line alone showed this was a whole new series... one where Angel was starting over again where he was not known and had no allies yet.

Finale:
Not Fade Away
The gang prepares to attack the true powers of evil by attempting to take down the Circle of the Black Thorn - a battle none of them expect to survive.

My Thoughts:
When watching this episode what more can you say then... WOW!... talk about going out with a bang! part of me loved this series finale. I thought in a way the ending was ingenious. But then again another part of me wants to cry every time that it ended too soon! I wanted to see what happened from there so badly! I know I said I wanted a Buffy reunion movie before it was too late... but what I think I really want is a combined Buffy/Angel reunion movie! Let us see what happened from here!!!
