Frodo Synopsis: Frodo, Sam and Gollum have found a secret yet dangerous path into Mordor which leads them in close proximity to Minas Morgul from where Mordor's armies are starting their final attack on Gondor. And while Saruman's army was beaten on the Hornburg the war is far from over. Rohan and Gondor have to stand united or they will fall. And even then it might not be enough to beat Sauron. Their only hope is to draw his armies out and give Frodo and Sam a chance to reach Mount Doom. Director Frank Capra (1897) Writer Robert Riskin (1897)...Screenwriter Clarence Budington Kelland (1881)...Story By Producer Frank Capra (1897) Cinematographer Joseph Walker (1892) Music Howard Jackson (1900)...Composer Stars Gary Cooper (1901) as Longfellow Deeds Jean Arthur (1900) as Babe Bennett George Bancroft (1882) as MacWade Lionel Stander (1908) as Cornelius Cobb Douglass Dumbrille (1889) as John Cedar Raymond Walburn (1887) as Walter H. B. Warner (1875) as Judge May Ruth Donnelly (1896) as Mabel Dawson Review Frank Capra was in the beginning of a hot streak in the Depression ravaged mid-thirties. After sweeping the Academy Awards with It Happened One Night in 1934, Capra would be rewarded with a second Oscar for Best Director two years later with Mr. Deeds Goes to Town, this is as good a place to start. Ratings Criterion4 Stars - Historically important film, considered a classic. Unfortunately, there is absolutely no love in the air when Dharma's hippie parents finally meet after their children have already married at a drive-thru chapel in Reno. With friends and family all suggesting that a quick annulment would be best, it's no surprise that the couple begins to second-guess their impulsive nuptials. But it's soon evident that nothing can stand in the way of true love! Pilot My Thoughts: Unrealistic? Sure... but this is an extremely fun and entertaining show. This is the first time I ever seen Jenna Elfman in anything... but I have liked her every since. I enjoyed watching this pilot so much that right after watching it.. I re-watched it with the commentary on. Definitely a fun sitcom I would recommend. Unfortunately we only ever got season one on DVD. My Rating: (From Pete's Pilots on December 28th, 2009) |
