The Hangover, a review by addicted2dvdThe Hangover They planned a Vegas bachelor party that they would never forget. Now they really need to remember what exactly went down! Whose baby is in the closet of their Caesars Palace suite? How did a tiger get in the bathroom? Why is one of them missing a tooth? And most of all, where is the groom?! What the guys did while partying can't compare to what they must do sober in an outrageous caper that has them piecing together all their bad decisions from the night before - one hazy clue at a time. Director Todd Phillips (Old School) and an all-aces comedy cast bring it big time with unpredictable situations that somehow all fit together. Tie one on with The Hangover. My Thoughts: I think the hype of this one got to me a little. I mean it is a good comedy and has a few laughs... but I was just expecting more. Now if you don't like the raunchy type of humor then I wouldn't recommend buying it blind.... you really should see it first as I normally don't care too much for the really raunchy humor... but this one walks the line pretty good. Over all I was able to enjoy it. I can see myself getting this one at some point in the future. But it is not one I will rush to buy. My Rating: Out of a Possible 5 (From Weekend Movie Marathon: On Demand on May 22nd, 2010) Watchmen, a review by TomTitle: Watchmen: Director's Cut Year: 2009 Director: Zack Snyder Rating: R Length: 186 Min. Video: Widescreen 2.40 Audio: English: DTS HD Master Audio, French: Dolby Digital 5.1 Subtitles: English, French, Spanish Stars: Malin Akerman Billy Crudup Matthew Goode Jackie Earle Haley Jeffrey Dean Morgan Plot:Awards:
Extras: BD-Live Featurettes Maximum Movie Mode Music Videos Scene Access My Thoughts: Even though I enjoy this movie, I feel it is much too long. The graphic novel on which this movie is based on, was always said to be unfilmable. They have proven this incorrect. As a matter of fact this is almost a panel-by-panel reenactment (at least it feels like it). And this is in my opinion just playing it too safe. A good film adaption, in my opinion, takes a source material and takes parts which are essential and provide a good and stream-lined story. Here they almost did not take any liberties, which is just too lazy for a film adaption. This approach would have better fit in a mini series.A good comic book adaption, where they still have the general storyline and ideas in the movie, but have enough changes to better fit the constraints of a movie, are in my opinion the two Death Note movies. But I have to give it to the movie, that the one big thing they have changed was for the better. And that is the ending. I like the movie version better. Coincidentally I thought the same thing about the Death Note ending. Rating: (From Tom's Random Reviews on October 10th, 2009) Angel Marathon, a review by addicted2dvdAngel: Season 5 13.
