My Thoughts:
This is one of the movies that was given to me not too long ago. I have had this movie suggested to me before... but when I watched the trailer I really didn't think it would be something I would like. But I always liked Ben stiller and Owen Wilson. As for Will Ferrell... he has always been hit or miss for me. I like him in some things... but in other things he just tends to aggravate me. But when this movie was offered to me... I figured for free I will give it a go and see what I think.

After watching it... I must say I am less then pleased. My initial thoughts after seeing the trailer was right. I know movies such as this attempts to be silly as can be... but in my opinion this one crosses the line from silly over to just plain stupid. I must say... I didn't get a single laugh from this one. Maybe a slight chuckle in one scene.... but no more then that. If this movie has one thing going for it... it is cameo appearances by lots of well known people.

My Rating:
Out of a Possible 5

Plot:
Behind every great love story is a great story.

As teenagers, Allie (Rachel McAdams) and Noah (Ryan Gosling) begin a whirlwind courtship that soon blossoms into tender intimacy. The young couple is quickly separated by Allie's upper-class parents who insist that Noah isn't right for her. Several years pass and, when they meet again, their passion is rekindled, forcing Allie to choose between her soulmate and class order. This beautiful tale has a particularly special meaning to an older gentleman (James Garner) who regularly reads the timeless love story to his aging companion (Gena Rowlands).

Based on the best-selling novel by Nicholas Sparks, 'The Notebook' is at once heartwarming and heartbreaking and will capture you in its sweeping and emotional force.

My Thoughts:
A great love story! I had feared that this movie will be boring or too melodramatic, but it there wasn't a single minute where it wasn't engaging. Despite the two hour runtime the time flew by. I can recommend it.

Smallville Marathon #2, a review by DJ Doena

Disc 6

Tempest
Synopsis: Clark goes to the spring formal with Chloe and Lana brings her boyfriend to the bus station because he decided to join the US Marine Corps. But before that happens the reporter that was hired by Lex some time ago blows up the Kent's truck with Clark in it. And he is right, Clark survives without a scratch. After that he learns both about the octagonal disc and the ship in the storm cellar. This will be a stormy day in Smallville.

My Opinion: Great finale. Smallville is a series that uses cliffhangers at the end of each season and the first parts are often great. But sometimes they fail to give it a good resultion in the next season.
I never had much interest in Whitney but he was a good reason why Clark couldn't be with Lana. I am not sure if it was a good idea to take him out of the show that early.

The Season - My Opinion: As I said, I've never read a Superman comic, but I liked this show from the beginning. The cast is great and several arcs are set in motion. It wasn't the best of all seasons but that rarely happens and in the league of first seasons it was a good one.
