My Thoughts: I first watched this one a few months back. I can't remember... either got it from the library or watched a friends copy or what it was. But I remember enjoying it. And the fact that Kat Dennings (2 Broke Girls) plays one of the sorority girls is a huge plus for me. And I am becoming a big fan of Anna Faris... he new TV Series Mom. Yesterday I got this blu-ray release and I just couldn't wait to watch it again. Sure there is a lot here that is awful silly... but even the first time I watch this film that is something I was expecting. I just find this to be a plain fun film. The blu-ray disc also has a lot of extras on it. Lots of deleted scenes and lots of featurettes as well as the other things listed above. Anyway... if you never seen this one I would say give it a chance. Just don't expect anything more then a fun, silly movie. My Rating: (From What Movies I Been Watching on February 11th, 2014) Meet John Doe, a review by addicted2dvdMeet John Doe As a parting shot, fired reporter Ann Mitchell prints a fake letter from unemployed "John Doe," who threatens suicide in protest of social ills. The paper is forced to rehire Ann and hires John Willoughby to impersonate "Doe." Ann and her bosses cynically milk the story for all it's worth, until the made-up "John Doe" philosophy starts a whole political movement. At last everyone, even Ann, takes her creation seriously...but publisher D.B. Norton has a secret plan. My Thoughts: This is one of the movies in that 20 Disc/40 Movie boxset I got free for subscribing to Total Movie Magazine. I enjoyed the movie... though it was a little on the slow side. And it dropped the comedy that was present the first half of the movie. I think without the comedy that the first half had... the show became a little too slow and political for my taste. If it found a way to keep the comedy throughout the movie I think I would have enjoyed it more. Since this movie is a part of that box set I was expecting practically nothing when it came to the quality. But I was presently surprised as the movie looked and sounded very good. The best quality I have seen from that set so far. My Rating: Out of a Possible 5 (From Weekend Movie Marathon: Unwatched DVDs on July 31st, 2009) Angel Marathon, a review by addicted2dvdAngel: Season 2 3. First Impressions Original Air Date: 10/10/2000 When Cordelia has a particularly disturbing vision of Gunn is in grave danger, she elects herself as his new protector. When she discovers that he may be his own worst enemy, she has to face the fact that she can't save him without the help of Angel and Wesley. Guest Stars: Julie Benz David Herman Chris Babers Cedrick Terrell My Thoughts: A good episode. We get lots of time getting to know Gunn some in this one. him together with Cordelia for most the episode gave us some good laughs. As did Angel wearing a pink helmet while riding on the back of Wesley's motorcycle. My Rating: (From Angel Marathon on March 1st, 2010) |
