m.cellophane says:

I was never too interested in seeing this. My father-in-law brought it to my attention recently and so I checked it out. This is what I would call an old-fashioned Saturday afternoon movie. Not a great film, but it's good entertainment. Great to eat popcorn to. It's noticeably PG rated too. No swearing that I can recall. That sort of felt unusual. I enjoyed the Philadelphia locales. I was recently in Philadelphia for the first time and there were a few places in the film that I actually recognized. One of my favorite places I've ever been was the Reading Terminal Market. There was a chase scene through the market in the film, so I was quite excited by that. Fans of Dexter will see Sgt. Doakes and Paul Bennett in tiny roles as FBI Agents. Completely formulaic, but good fun.

6 on the cellophane scale.

My Thoughts:

Granted this one is for the fans of the books and TV series. for me it is a lot of nostalgia of watching the TV episodes with my daughter. I really enjoyed this film...and love the fact that I got to watch this one with my daughter since we enjoyed watching the series so much when she was a kid. I think they did a good job at bringing a lot of the characters from the series to film. Jack Black has always been hit and miss for me... but I really liked him playing R. L. Stine. I found this one well worth the time put in to watch it... but I don't see people enjoying this one if they don't know the books or TV series.

My Thoughts:
Now in its eleventh season and South Park is still going strong.
The highlights for me in this season:
- Lice Capades: The story of lice Bruckheimer style when catastrophe strikes when an anti-lice shampoo is used against them
- Imaginationland: Great three-parter. A lot of fun appearances by other known cartoon characters
- Guitar Queer-O: A parody of the game Guitar Hero.
- The List: The girls made a list of what boy in their class is the cutest and who's the ugliest. The boys of course are trying to get their hand on it. How will they react, when they read it?
