Zombie, a review by Jimmy

I've decided to make it too this year (in fact I was too late last year since I've rediscover the website only at the end of november). I don't really have an objective to reach since it's my first try, but I want to watch the more movie I can.

Month Long Horror Marathon

Title : Zombie (1979)

OverviewMy Impression
I've always like those italian zombie movies and this one is my favourite. I like the fact that the action is situate on a deserted island and not in an urban city, this situation remove the army factor : the movie protagonists are alone and they must act to save themselve. The special effect and the zombie make-up are well done something not really surprising since the Italian crews are recognize for making the great things with almost nothing. The musical score brings a perfect mood to the film and there is no use of cheap music cue to create a jump scare. I can't comment on the acting since the film is dub in english and this one is not too bad, evidently sometimes it's pretty funny (mostly the dubbing of Lucas). Another plus is the presence of Tisa Farrow in the cast, I'm always happy to see her since she had a little something that make her beautifull for me. No problem for recommanding this one.

My Thoughts:
After the initial scene's action the story slowed down quite a bit till the scene in the graveyard where they dance on the graves. But once that scene was done the movie definitely picked up! I feel that this is a very good ghost story. I wouldn't say the best I ever seen... but definitely enjoyable... one that I feel comfortable recommending to any horror fan. There was even a couple things that I really didn't see coming... which is always a good thing! Going by this movie... and the trailers for the other movies in this series I am really looking forward to watching the rest of the titles in this series!

My Rating:
Out of a Possible 5

The One Where It All Began: The Pilot Marathon, a review by DJ Doena

The Big Bang Theory

What's the show about?
The sitcom revolves around the lives of three physicists, one engineer and one waitress. The two physicists Sheldon and Leonard live across the hall from Penny the waitress. Leonard is in love with Penny but she hasn't responded yet. Sheldon and Leonard are often visited by their friends Rajesh and Howard (the latter one being the engineer) and when their world clashes with Penny's hilarity ensues.

"Pilot"
Leonard and Sheldon have just aborted a high IQ sperm donation when they discover that they have a new neighbour: Penny, a waitress at "The Cheesecake Factory". When Penny takes a shower in their apartment (and hopefully doesn't discover the Darth Vader shampoo or the Luke Skywalker conditioner) she asks Leonard for a favour...

My Opinion
One of my favourite sitcoms of all time. The five are so hilarious together with Sheldon being the heyday of most episodes. Sheldon is totally unaware of his rudeness and his arrogance and it's great fun to watch him and the others. I can't wait for the third season to begin next week and I am glad that the network has already ordered a fourth season.
