Mirror Mirror 3: The Voyeur, a review by addicted2dvd

Title: Mirror Mirror 3: The Voyuer
Movie Count: 68
TV Ep Count: 32
Other  Count: 2
Time Started: 3pm
Plot:
The Mirror returns as Billy Drago, Monique Parent and David Naughton are trapped in a triangle of erotic splendor, forbidden desire and supernatural murder. Elizabeth Baldwin co-stars in this sensuous chiller that takes the series to new heights of horror.

My Thoughts:
Another one I never seen before. After the second one I was hoping this series wouldn't get any worse. But unfortunately it has. One thing I did like about this movie is a look of one of the earlier roles for Billy Drago... I have become somewhat of a fan of his every since I saw him reoccur on Charmed as the Demon of Fear. The only other thing this movie could possibly have going for it is the fact that almost every other scene has a nude woman in it... this thing could almost be softcore porn. I would almost be willing to say more softcore porn then horror.

My Rating

My Thoughts:

Story about three loser scam artists who plan to steal a coin collection.

This movie is not for everyone, and as I reflect, not for me either. Even if I hadn't already read on the dvd artwork I would have known quickly that this movie was based on a stage production play, in this case written by David Mamet. A cast of three with almost the entire 95 minutes taking place inside a junk store, it's one of those micro-managed films that plays like a hamster in his wheel, running endlessly but never getting anywhere.

The entire film is spent planning this daring heist and it never happens. I had a sneaky suspicion this might be the case but I was holding out, hoping it might. Bah!

Dustin Hoffman is good, the similarities between this role and Ratso Rizzo in Midnight cowboy are uncanny. Both are greasy, fast talking manipulators with major character flaws. Hoffman could always deliver colorful tirades among the best.

Dennis Franz, best known for his days on NYPD Blue plays the man with the plan but unwillingly lets Teach (Hoffman) in on the deal and things quickly fall apart. Franz is ok, but he doesn't exceed his limits which in movies is little more than a bit player.

If you are looking for action this is not for you. If you want to watch a dialogue driven study on human nature than give it a shot.

Babylon 5: Marathon, a review by DJ Doena

Disc 6

Objects at Rest

Synopsis: The episode of departure. Stephen takes his job on Earthdome, Ta'lon becomes the new Narn ambassador and Sheridan and Delenn leave for Minbar, where they surprisingly meet Londo who has a gift for their unborn child.

My opinion: A quiet episode which brings the immideate story to an and. But as Londo would say "Their story isn't over yet."

Sleeping in Light

Synopsis: 2281. 19 years after the fith season. Sheridan is going to die and he invites the old friends who are still alive: General Ivanova, Garibaldi,Dr.  Franklin, Emperor Cotto and Zack Allen. Then he goes to Babylon 5 which is about to be decommissioned (read: to be blown up). After that he goes to Corriana 6, the place from where the Vorlons and the Shadows have left the galaxy. And Lorien awaits him there.

My opinion: A very emotional episode. To be honest, I cry every time when I see it. And that doesn't happen very often, after all I know it's just a TV show. But I can't help it with this one.

BTW: The service technician that shuts down the lights on B5 just before it is blown up, is JMS himself.

Season analysis: In the big picture it's one of the weaker seasons of that show but in the second half it's very good and the ending is magnificent.
