Chopping Mall, a review by addicted2dvd

Title: Chopping Mall
Movie Count: 50
TV Ep Count: 11
Time Started: 12:15pm
Plot:
High tech robots equipped with state-of-the-art security devices have been recruited as the new mechanical "night watchmen" for the Park Plaza Mall. When a jolting bolt of lightning short circuits the main computer control, the robots turn into "killbots"...on the loose after unsuspecting shoppers. Four couples are trying to make it after-hours in a mattress store. They make it all right...in the morgue!

My Thoughts:
This is a movie I bought because I thought I remembered seeing it years ago... and enjoying it. Unfortunately it wasn't as good as I remembered it being. It is a decent enough movie for what it is.... but when I saw this the last time (when I was a teen) I thought it was better. Unfortunately it just did not hold up well for me. But one thing I did enjoy is seeing another movie with Kelli Maroney in it. As I really enjoyed her in "Night of the Comet".

My Rating
Out of a Possible 5

The Heartbreak Kid, a review by Rich

The Heartbreak Kid

Ben Stiller stars as Eddie, the 40-year-old confirmed bachelor who finally says "I do" to the beautiful and sexy Lila (Malin Akerman). But during their honeymoon in Mexico, the woman of his dreams turns out to be a total nightmare, and the guy who could never pull the trigger realizes he's jumped the gun. Take home the Farrelly Brothers' hysterical twist on boy-meets-girl, The Heartbreak Kid, and prepare to have a blast!

Fluff movie but with several gut wrenchingly laugh out loud moments to keep it above the politically incorrect humour gutter. Stiller is typecast yet again by the Farrelly brothers as the bumbling unlucky in love male lead, and the chemistry between the leads was never too convincing. It is overly long and the storyline struggled to fill the gaps, but the grossness and cringeworthy scenes manage to keep a smile often enough on ones face to enjoy it.
Not a masterpiece but about what I expected.
