Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs , a review by Tom

My Thoughts: Disney's first feature film and even after almost 75 years the animation still holds up. It's flawless. The movie isn't much dialog-driven, but by the score which is constantly accompanying the animation.Rating: (From Tom's Random Reviews on June 11th, 2011) Coach Carter , a review by Silence_of_LambsSummary: Ken Carter (Samuel L. Jackson), a successful sporting goods store owner, accepts the job of basketball coach for his old high school in a poor area of Richmond, CA, where he was a champion athlete. As much dismayed by the poor attitudes of his players as well as their dismal play performance, Carter sets about to change both. He immediately imposes a strict regime typified in written contracts that include stipulations for respectful behavior, a dress code and good grades as requisites to being allowed to participate. The initial resistance from the boys is soon dispelled as the team under Carter's tutelage becomes a undefeated competitor in the games. However, when the overconfident team's behavior begins to stray and Carter learns that too many players are doing poorly in class, he takes immediate action. To the outrage of the team, the school and the community, Carter cancels all team activities and locks the gym until the team shows acceptable academic improvement... My Thoughts: Yet another movie on how discipline and a positive role-model (in combination with a replacement father) can solve all problems. I guess there has to be one for every sport. This is a quite entertaining sports movie on Highschool-Basketball, not more, not less. The story as such is well known and highly predictable, nevertheless it has some twitches that keep you interested. The few occasions on which this flick begins to shine is when Coach Carter is meeting the disaffected faculty and tries to motivate them again. A nice movie for a lazy Sunday afternoon. My Rating: (out of possible 5) (From Michael's random reviews on January 2nd, 2011) Tom's Random Reviews, a review by TomTitle: Cheers: Season Eleven Year: 1992 Director: James Burrows Rating: NR Length: 648 Min. Video: Full Frame 1.33:1 Audio: English: Dolby Digital Stereo Subtitles: Stars: Ted Danson as Sam Malone Kirstie Alley as Rebecca Howe Rhea Perlman as Carla Tortelli John Ratzenberger as Cliff Clavin Woody Harrelson as Woody Boyd Kelsey Grammer as Dr. Frasier Crane George Wendt as Norm Peterson My Thoughts: Cheers is one of the comedy series I always enjoyed. In the mid-90s, this series was first shown on German television (not counting the airing of the first 13 episodes in the 80s with different dub on public television) in the "great" time slot some time after midnight. I always made sure to tape the show to watch it the next day. My favorite characters are Norm and Cliff. The most annoying character is Rebecca (Kirstie Alley). Highlight in this final season for me is the last Bar Wars episode, where Gary (Cheers' nemesis) is tricked to demolish his pub. And of course the final episode.
