Tooth Fairy, a review by addicted2comics

Ok, I'm a little late, but here is a movie I recently watched.



The Plot: After nearly ruining a kid's fantasy of the tooth fairy, that is exactly what the famous hockey player must become.

My Thoughts: It was a fairly funny movie, though I can't help but get my impulse to joke out of the way and say THEY MADE THE ROCK WEAR A TUTU!!! Ok, I'm good now, and calm down it was only one scene. . I still remember laughing so hard when the Rock made fun of the boss and his caseworker by saying, "Everbody here has a British accent!". Besides the hilarity it had a very cool plot and message about the importance of a kid's fantasies. I give it a 4 out of 5.

Plot:Nominated for seven Acadamy Awards including Best Film and Best Actor, this film is an extraordinary tale of hope, friendship and survival inside a maximum security prison.
City banker, Andy Dufresne, (Tim Robbins) arrived at Shawshank Prison in 1947, convicted of two brutal murders, he received a double life sentence.
He discovers that when they send you to Shawshank State Prison of life... that is exactly what they take.
Within the confines of Shawshank, Andy forms an unlikely friendship with the prison "fixer" Red (Morgan Freeman). He also becomes popular with the Warden and the prison's guards, as Andy is able to use his banking experience to help the currupt officials amass personal fortunes.
With an extraordinary twist in the tale, Andy finds that survival comes down to a simple choice, get busy living or get busy dying.

My Review:
As a break from the horror marathon, I picked a title that always hovers in my top 10 movies, a film that oozes class and whos appeal never wanes.
Very moving and sentimental, a great adaptation, with Robbins and Freeman putting in their best ever performances. As I am sure everyone has seen it, I won't do a full review, but would just say I believe it is nearly faultless and a modern classic.

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles: The Complete Second Season marathon, a review by Achim

At a conference on UFOs, Sarah gets a clue that puts her on the trail of the three dots.  Riley has second thoughts about her mission.

My comments:
Wow, that was awkward. While most of the plot didn't really interest me that much (mainly that part with the UFOs...) it was still all put together very well. Then there is the two other story threads which are also very interesting and the story comes out on top in the end.

I mean, come on, Sarah follows a lead where she found three UFOs on the cover of a flyer, looking similar to her dots? In general I don't mind the idea that stands behind that (people found "future technology" and since they can't know that they assume it's alien), just they way it's introduced into the show didn't meet my approval (). Once that was over with there was one more obvious plot twist to deal with but the rest was fine.

Much more interesting to me was how they introduced Riley's back story (including "her" agenda) with a bang. No more hiding, no more guesses or hints. Kaboom, here is what it is, deal with it. That was intercut with interactions between John, Riley and Cameron which re-introduced the theme of jealousy.

Finally there is Ellison who, after initial hesitation, agrees to teach morals and ethics to John Henry. Well, technically we never see him agree, but we see him play chess with the artificial intelligence and discuss related topics.


(only because the, IMO misguided, use of the UFO theme)
