The Langoliers, a review by addicted2dvd

The Langoliers
Something bizarre has happened aboard flight #29...a nightmare so chilling, so frightening, so unrelenting it could only come from the mind of Stephen King. Now the master storyteller of our time gives terror a new name in THE LANGOLIERS. A jet leaves on a red-eye flight from Los Angeles to Boston. But early in the flight, ten passengers awaken to a startling realization: All of the other passengers have vanished - and the ground below is only...ground. But once they manage to land the plane, the situation doesn't improve. No one is there...the air is still...the clocks have stopped...and a dread, evil presence bent on their destruction is headed straight for them. Based on the novella from the best-selling anthology 'Four Past Midnight', Patricia Wettig ('City Slickers II'), Bronson Pincho ('Beverly Hills Cop'), Dean Stockwell ('The Player') and David Morse ('The Getaway') stare into the jaws of oblivion in this nightmare from the mind of Stephen King.

My Thoughts:
This is a 3 hour Stephen King miniseries. It has a rather bleak look at time travel. Bronson Pincho's character Mr. Toomy is really off. And what is with that tearing of paper? It was almost like he was enjoying that a little too much... if you know what I mean. This is not one of my favorite King miniseries... though it has it's moments. Juast average... maybe slightly above average.

My Rating:
Out of a Possible 5

Laurie lives with her granddaughter Allyson (Andi Matichak) and has chosen to liberate herself from fear and rage and embrace life. My Thoughts:

I went into this one with pretty high expectations, but the beginning of the movie had me a bit worried as there was so little Michael. As the story went on the more I got into it. The more I realized where they were going with it. And the more I was enjoying it. Over all well worth the time put in to watch it. I ended up really enjoying it.

My PILOT Marathon, a review by Rich

STEP OUT OF THE SUNLIGHT AND A DARKER WORLD EMERGES.
Like their CSI counterparts in Las Vegas, the CSI: Miami team, headed by lead  criminologist Horatio Caine (David Caruso), tackles the fascinating, compelling approach to  crime known as forensic science. Behind the sun, surf and palm trees lurks a captivating,  25-episode premiere season of spellbinding mysteries and baffling clues - all captured on  DVD in this seven-disc collection of CSI: Miami - The Complete First Season.

Disappointing pilot, too much glitz and glamour to the expense of suspense or reality. David Caruso is one of my least favourite actors, and his presence would always make me feel negative to the show.
My daughter is hooked on all the CSI variations, but personally I find nothing in the few episodes I've seen and this particular pilot to draw me back with any enthusiasm. Everything seems all too easy, and convenient, and everyone so pretty and well dressed, that I can't buy in to it.
