Robin Hood: Men in Tight, a review by RichTitle: Robin Hood: Men in Tights Runtime:100 Certificate:PG Year:1993 Genres:Comedy Plot:The legend that had it coming, ROBIN HOOD: MEN IN TIGHTS wipes away the mystery - and the dignity! - of England's most infamous stocking-filler as Robin of Loxley and his merry men bring a dose of sheer mayhem to Sherwood Forest! Throwing away their titles and their trousers, Robin and his nylon-clad crew battle to bring down the evil Prince John and his hideous side-kick the Sheriff of Rottingham to procure the key to Maid Marian's heart...and her chastity belt! ROBIN HOOD: MEN IN TIGHTS...There's no flies on them! My Review: I have always thought 90% of Mel Brooks ventures were awful, but this sinks to a new low and is total crap. A couple of reasonable performances from the likes of Cary Elwes and Eric Cramer try to drag this film up to mediocre, but sadly it only worsens with cheap and tacky gags, some downright awful acting, and sets looking distinctly amateurish and low budget. Not sure if it's just that I dislike the director so much my view is tainted, but I cannot believe anyone would get more than a couple of titters from this weak spoof comedy. My Rating (From Riches Random Reviews on January 17th, 2010) When Harry Met Sally..., a review by addicted2dvdTitle: When Harry Met Sally...: Collector's Edition Year: 1989 Director: Rob Reiner Rating: R Length: 95 Min. Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 1.85:1 Audio: English: Dolby Digital: Dolby Surround, English: Dolby Digital: 5.1, Spanish: Dolby Digital: Dolby Surround, French: Dolby Digital: Dolby Surround, Commentary: Dolby Digital: 2-Channel Stereo Subtitles: English, Spanish Stars: Billy Crystal Meg Ryan Carrie Fisher Bruno Kirby Steven Ford Lisa Jane Persky Plot: From acclaimed director Rob Reiner (The Princess Bride) comes this "explosively funny" (Newsweek) romantic comedy classic starring Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan. One of the most beloved romances of all time, When Harry Met Sally... is "shimmering [with] intelligence and humor" (Boxoffice) as it exposes "the kind of truth about relationships that hasn't shown up in movies before" (New York)...or since! Sex always gets in the way of friendships between men and women. At least, that's what Harry Burns (Crystal) believes. So when Harry meets Sally Albright (Ryan) and a deep friendship blossoms between them, Harry's determined not to let his attraction to Sally destroy it. But when a night of weakness ends in a morning of panic, can the pair avoid succumbing to Harry's fears by remaining friends and admitting they just might be the perfect match for each other? Extras: Scene Access Audio Commentary Feature Trailers Bonus Trailers Deleted Scenes Featurettes Closed Captioned My Thoughts: I have heard good things about this movie many times over the years... but this is the first time I am actually seeing it for myself. I went into this one hoping that all the good things I heard wouldn't make my expectations of this one too high. And I must admit I was expecting a little more from it... but even with that said I enjoyed it quite a bit. Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal work well together. I didn't get the chance to check out the extras on this disc... so I may just save them for the next time I watch the movie. My Rating: Out of a Possible 5 (From 14 Days of Romance Marathon on February 9th, 2011) Pete's Pilots, a review by addicted2dvdAmerican Gothic Pilot A traumatized young girl dies mysteriously, and some suspect the town's charming sheriff, who was the last person to see her alive. My Thoughts: This is a show I discovered on DVD after it was recommended to me by several people about 4 years ago. And I enjoyed every minute of it when I watched the series. This is the first time I re-watched an episode since then. And I must admit... I enjoyed it just as much this time as I did then. This is another one of those series that after watching the pilot here today I could watch the entire series again! A great horror/suspense series.
