Ten Minutes to Midnight, a review by addicted2dvd
Stars: Caroline Williams as Amy Marlowe Nicole Kang as Sienna William Youmans as Robert Adam Weppler as Aaron Nicholas Tucci as Ernie Plot: Caroline williams returns to the DJ booth for the first time since her star-making turn in 1986's The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 as vetern punk rock disc jockey Amy Marlowe, bitten by a rabid bat on the eve of her final broadcast. When a raging storm traps Amy, her mysterious replacement (Nicole Kang, Batwoman) and the uneasy staffinside their small-town radio station, reality begins to fracture as they begin to move further and further into the graveyard shift. Is it rabies? Or something far more sinister? Extras:
My Thoughts: No more then Average low budget vampire film. Does have a couple recognizable names going for it. And it had a few good moments but nothing I haven't seen before. Other things were more on the rediculous side. This isn't one I would recommend to others.Side note to Tom: Thanks for finding/getting me my review window back! Rating: (From Ten Minutes to Midnight on March 20th, 2023) Alien Nation, a review by addicted2dvdMOVIE / DVD INFO: Title: Alien Nation Year: 1988 Director: Graham Baker Rating: R Length: 90 Min. Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 2.35:1 Audio: English DD Stereo Subtitles: English, Spanish & Closed Captioned Stars: James Caan as Matthew Sykes Mandy Patinkin as Sam Francisco Terence Stamp as William Harcourt Plot:Extras: - Featurette - Making-Of - Alien Nation Theatrical Trailer - 3 Alien Nation TV Spots - Bonus Trailers: The Abyss, Aliens, Enemy Mine, Independence Day, Zardoz My Thoughts: This release of Alien Nation is a 2 disc boxset along with the movie Enemy Mine. This is the first time in years since I seen this movie. I remembered enjoying it when I first watched it. But I have to admit... I forgot just how much I enjoyed this movie. It is a nice mixture of sci-fi, action and comedy all rolled together in a buddy cop movie. This DVD release has good quality... no complaints at all in that area. It has a nice small selection of extras... definitely better then some of the movies I have recently watched. But I would have liked to see a few more odds and ends thrown in. I would have loved to of seen a James Caan & Mandy Patinkin commentary... but it just wasn't meant to be. But definitely a movie worth checking out if you never seen it.(From Alien Nation on June 22nd, 2008) Star Trek: Deep Space Nine - Marathon, a review by DJ DoenaDisc 7 Tribunal Synopsis: While on a holiday trip with his wife, O'Brien is being abducted by the Cardassians. Back on Cardassia he is charged with aiding the Maquis and delivering photon torpedos to them. In the cardassian justice system the verdict is always the same: guilty. The tribunal is just to show why he's guilty. My Opinion: I liked that episode. Despite the seriousness it was funny to see how O'Brien's "defense attorney" became more and more despaired. Why would his client be so unreasonable? Why doesn't O'Brien simply confess and thus proves the effectiveness of the cardassian justice system? And the face he made when he realized that his client was free to go... The Jem'Hadar Synopsis: Sisko invites his son to do a science project in the GQ who in turn invites Nog. And Quark is accompanying them as well. But they are caught by the Jem'Hadar, warriors of the Dominion. A message is brought to DS9, declaring their capture and the destruction of several ships as well as the destruction of the bajoran colony in the GQ.My Opinion: And so it begins. The Dominion in shape of the Vorta and the Jem'Hadar has entered entered the chess board. And although they've only stated that they do not want any more AQ ships in their territory they've also made it clear that they've gathered intel about the races of the AQ. Now the show gets really interesting. The Season - My Opinion: This season was half'n'half. There were a number of very interesting and great episodes mixed with rather uninteresting ones. I especially liked the character-driven episodes like Armageddon Game, Blood Oath and Crossover. And now let us see the Defiant! (From Star Trek: Deep Space Nine - Marathon on October 12th, 2008) |
