The Gathering, a review by KinkyCyborgTitle:The Gathering Year: 2002 Director: Brian Gilbert Rating: R Length: 87 Min. Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 2.35:1 Audio: English: Dolby Digital: 5.1 Subtitles: English, Spanish Stars: Christina Ricci Ioan Gruffudd Stephen Dillane Kerry Fox Simon Russell Beale Plot: Christina Ricci (Monster) stars in this spine-tingling supernatural thriller about an American backpacker in rural England whose life takes a turn for the worse after a car accident. During recovery, she is befriended by a researcher (Stephen Dillane) studying a buried 1st Century church embedded with images of Christ's crucifixion. She begins to have horrific visions of the townspeople and their deaths. Is the town cursed or are her visions spirits from the unearthed church grasping for life? What is uncovered will shock and terrify you! Extras: Scene Access Bonus Trailers Closed Captioned My Thoughts: Billed as a horror movie, there was little that was horrific about it, but I still liked it's originality and concept. A bit of the supernatural, with religious overtones, as the people of 'The Gathering' are revealed for what they truly are you find yourself marveling at how it all fits into historical significance. One thing that bothered me about the movie however was one particular scene of utter stupidity in which... (click to show/hide) I've never been a fan of Christina Ricci or her abnormally large forehead but she did a good job as the lead and I must confess I was duly impressed by her nicely proportioned 'rack' KC Rating: (From KinkyCyborg's Random Reviews 2010 on July 31st, 2010) Starsky & Hutch, a review by DragonfireStarsky takes the wheel, Hutch rides shotgun and comedy runs wild in this hilarious twist on the landmark buddy-cop TV show. Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson bring a playful chemistry to the roles of undercover detectives Starsky and Hutch. Todd Phillips ('Old School', 'Road Trip') directs this '70s groove in which our guys are stripped of their badges, duped by a drug kingpin (Vince Vaughn) and totally ripped off in a disco contest. So, yeah, they got some scores to settle. Snoop Dogg is in fly funkadelic mode as urban coolster Huggy Bear. And Juliette Lewis and others make for nonstop fun. If inducing laughter is a crime, they're all guilty as charged! My Thoughts I know a lot of people don't care for this one, but I enjoyed it overall. I had heard of the television show before seeing the movie, but I don't think I'd seen any of it. That could be why I ended up liking it. Several things that happen are rather silly, but I think it made for an entertaining movie overall. I do usually like Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson, so that is probably part of it too. There is some action in a few scenes that helps to keep things interesting. I did get a review posted on Epinions back after I first saw the movie if anyone wants to take a look. Episode 9 - Ghost in the Machine Don't touch that dial! The Ghost controls the airwaves, tapping into video feeds just as he did back in 1955. Nightshade, a crimefighter from the '50s, resurfaces to fight him - and now he has The Flash on his side. Guest Stars: Richard Belzer as Joe Kline Jason Bernard as Dr. Desmond Powell Vito D'Ambrisio as Bellows Biff Manard as Murphy Lois Nettleton as Belle Crocker My Thoughts: This one I really liked a lot. I liked the whole previous masked man meeting and teaming up with The Flash. It made for a really interesting story... one I was glued to the set to watch!
