My Thoughts: I have seen bits and pieces of this one before. But I think that this is the first time I seen the whole film. I did find it enjoyable. Some segments more then others. My favorite segment has to be "The Sourcer's Apprentice," At least for me one big downfall of this film has to be the narrarator. He just talked too much when introducing the segments. He should have announced the segments without telling us what we were about to see. So the film is entertaining enough... but could have been better. But when I watched it a second time I found it a lot better. I probably had other expectations when I had first watched it.The actors are all good. Even most of the child actors. Especially Evan Rachel Wood in one of her first roles. Now something which you won't find in Pete's review: I liked the music selection. I especially thought that Faith Hill's "This Kiss" was a great choice. Rating: (From Weekend Movie Marathon: Sandra Bullock on June 7th, 2009) Tom's TV Pilots marathon, a review by Tom
Plot: Retail tycoon Philip Glass has acquired a call-center in Mumbai as part of a takeover and promptly dispatches the reluctant Kenny Gupta (Sanjeev Bhaskar - Goodness Gracious Me, The Kumars at No. 42) to take charge. He's joined by Dev Rajah (Nitin Gantra - EastEnders) as general manager and purveyor of clandestine goods and services, and Terri Johnson (Daisy Beaumont - Star Stories), sent from head office to keep an eye on operations. This hit comedy series follows Kenny, Dev and Terri as they fight to keep the call centre going at all costs, whether this is directing a hearse through traffic in Milton Keynes or delivering a baby over the phone! For some reason I didn't notice the last time around, that one of the main actors I know from the movie "Bride & Prejudice". Rating: (From Tom's TV Pilots marathon on June 10th, 2012) |
