My Thoughts:
Even though I have heard both good and bad about this movie... I pre-ordered this one for 2 reasons... Curios about how they did it as there has been remakes that I liked. And it has Jared Padalecki (Supernatural... one of my favorite shows!) in it. I went into this one with slightly high expectations... which is not ideal. I really wasn't as happy with it as I thought I would be. I mean I didn't hate it... but it should have been better. some of the kills were pretty cool... but then some you didn't get to see that well and left more to the imagination. Jason himself didn't feel like the real Jason... and probably the worst thing about it... Jason does not take prisoners! I realize when watching this you are supposed to forget that the movies before it even exists... but with such an iconic horror franchise as Friday the 13th that is really just impossible for the fans to do. I can't say I am sorry I got it.... as I did enjoy it... it just wasn't exactly what I was expecting... and it should have been a bit better.

Plot:

The bad news is that this doesn't quite feel like a real Bond film (yes, I know they say it's supposed to build up to the third one, but I thought the first one felt more like Bond than this...). However, The good news is that it's a solid action film with a decent plot to go with it. The villain is not very strong in this one (part of what makes it less Bond-like, I guess) but it's more about Bond getting closure with the things that occured in Casino Royale.

Many people complained about the action scenes. While I agree that they could have used a wide angle shot here and there to clarify a little better what and who was where, I could follow the proceedings sufficiently and had no bigger problems with them. Also the music, or better the lack of the theme, gets a lot of flak. Here, I'll go with the group that says that Bond is not "worthy of the theme" in Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace just yet, which they will therefore (hopefully) correct in the next one. We do get the theme with the end credits in both films...

I really liked M in this one, how she could see the "Bond-to-be" behind the rampaging idiot (for lack of words the word filter won't catch). Bond's switch from vigilant to professional field agent was nicely compressed into one short moment within the big fight towards the end. Also Felix Leiter develops very nicely. The reference to Goldfinger feels rather odd.

The ending was very good, that final exchange between Bond and M is very enjoyable.

Now, I keep hearing that this is building up to be a trilogy. But how...? What's missing? I don't see it ; I didn't really find any big loose ends when the credits rolled. What am I missing.

16. It's the End of the World


My Thoughts:
This is part one of an outstanding two part episode. Definitely one of my favorites of the 2 seasons I have seen of this show so far. It is a very powerful and emotional episode.

17. As We Know it
A dangerous situation escalates despite the hospital's "code black" and the local bomb squad's determined efforts. Meredith must team up with the bomb squad while Derek performs an intense surgery under excruciating conditions.

My Thoughts:
This is second part is just as powerful and emotional as the first. It really was a great continuation of the storyline. The paramedic that had her hand in the patient holding the unexploded missile looked very familiar to me... but I was really drawing a blank. Then I felt like a total idiot when I looked in DVDP to discover it was Christina Ricci that I didn't recognize! How is that even possible? Sit there watching her for 2 episodes and never realizing who it was. Unbelievable!

18. Yesterday
A visitor from the past, Dr. Mark Sloan (Eric Dane), stirs up Derek and Addison's lives, while Meredith explores her family's dirty laundry and Cristina's secret makes its way to Burke.

My Thoughts:
This is a good episode with some interesting cases...including a woman that has spontaneous orgasms and a teen boy with bony tumors in his skull making him look somewhat disfigured. As he put it he looked like he had the face of a lion. And then the doctor that Addison cheated on Derek shows up in the hospital.

19. What Have I Done to Deserve This?


My Thoughts:
Pretty much a standard filler episode case wise... but there is advancements in the drama of their personal lives. It is good to see Denny back... as I always liked that storyline.

20. Band-Aid Covers the Bullet Hole
Izzie bails on Alex in favor of Denny as Meredith attempts to deal with the fallout from sleeping with George and Bailey attempts to circumvent maternity leave.

My Thoughts:
This one is more or less just a continuation of the last episode. So it is a pretty standard episode with nothing big happening in the hospital... and is putting the storyline more to the private lives of the patients.
