Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, a review by Dragonfire

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2
In the epic finale, the battle between the good and evil forces of the wizarding world escalates into an all-out war. The stakes have never been higher and no one is safe. But it is Harry who may be called upon to make the ultimate sacrifice as he draws closer to the climactic showdown with Lord Voldemort. It all ends here.

This movie ties up everything fairly well and it is a good adaptation overall.  The main differences come from things that weren't properly set up in previous movies.  I still don't really like how Harry ends up being able to find the horcruxes, but it does work for the movie.  It just seems like it was an attempt to cover up the fact that they screwed up the set up big time as far as the horcruxes were concerned.  I really didn't need to see the snake as often as it was around, but I knew that would happen.  I was really worried about how Snape's memories would be handled after memories have been screwed up in previous movies.  Thankfully they were done wonderfully.  Things were condensed a bit, and one very moving thing was added in that made the memory part stronger overall.  It makes Snape more likable overall and shows that he is capable of feelings.  I still love how Helena Bonham Carter plays it when Hermione is supposed to be Bellatrix.  She looks the same but also different at the same time.  The crazed look in her eyes is gone, replaced by the look of someone who is uncertain about what they are doing.  It's wonderful.

It really is amazing that all these movies were able to be made with the same main cast - except for Richard Harris who unfortunately passed away.  There are a few continuity issues here and there that come from the changes the different directors did.  The cast is wonderful, especially Alan Rickman.  His part is smaller, but it is so important and he really shines in his few scenes.  There are a few things that I would have liked to see from the book, though they were more minor things.

I did post a longer review on Epinions after seeing the movie.

Speed, a review by addicted2dvd

Speed
Hold on tight for a rush of pulse-pounding thrills, breathtaking stunts and unexpected romance in a film you'll want to see again and again. KEANU REEVES stars as Jack Traven, an L.A.P.D. SWAT team specialist who is sent to diffuse a bomb that a revenge driven extortionist (DENNIS HOPPER) has planted on a bus. But until he does, Jack and one of the passengers (SANDRA BULLOCK) must keep the bus speeding through the streets of Los Angeles at more than 50 miles per hour - or the bomb will explode. A high-octane chase of suspense, nonstop action and surprise twists, SPEED is a joyride sure to keep everyone on the edge of their seats.

My Thoughts:
This was either the first or second thing I ever seen Sandra Bullock in... and I have been a fan of her's every since. This is a movie I haven't seen in many years. So long in fact that I went into this movie today not really remembering much of anything other then the main basic plot of the movie. I got to say after watching it that I really enjoyed every minute of it. It is a good non-stop action movie. Sure... there is a lot of scenes in this movie that is unbelievable... but if you can suspend believability this is a great action packed bus trip. When it comes to DVD extras on this release I was a bit disappointed. Sure... there is a couple audio commentaries. But that is all you get. Not even the theatrical trailer... which many of you know is a pet peeve of mine.

My Rating:
Out of a Possible 5

"Big Bang Theory" Marathon, a review by addicted2dvd

1. Pilot
Brain doesn't have much of a chance against brawn when Leonard and Sheldon try to retrieve Penny's TV from her muscle-bound ex.

My Thoughts:
I think this was a great start to the series. You get to care about the characters fairly easy... and think the chemistry between them is there from the start. Obviously my favorite character has to be Penny... but this is one of those rare occasions where I actually like all the characters!

2. The Big Bran Hypothesis
Leonard tries to keep Sheldon from fighting chaos in the universe, the center of which is Penny's messy apartment.

My Thoughts:
I found this to be a hilarious episode. I am the first to admit I am a little bit of a slob... so I could just imagine how I would have reacted. But hey... at least it would save me a lot of work! just leave my door unlocked every night!  :P

3. The Fuzzy Boots Corollary
Leonard has a date - with Penny. Too bad he hasn't told her about it.

My Thoughts:
This is pretty much just an OK episode in my opinion. I mean it was still enjoyable... but it seemed to be a step down from the previous 2 episodes. I think... for me... the best part of this episode had to be the vomit joke (poor guy on the bike). I believe that was probably the only laugh out loud moment for me in this episode.
