Citizen Kane, a review by Rich

Citizen Kane

As good as I remembered, a masterclass in film making, a moment of history, a lesson in cinematography. I am a movie buff, not a film enthusiast, so this never would be in my top 10. But it never misses by much, as a movie alone it is thoroughly enjoyable and has stood the test of time like few others.
Welles delivers a commanding and spellbinding performance, from young buck to old lonely man shuffling round his monolithic mansion, complete with amazing backdrops and sets. His directorship at just 24 is practically flawless, he clearly was gifted with a natural flair. The supporting cast of mainly unknowns making their first big features are tremendous, and were never a weak link.
The storyline holds up right to the very end, with the 'who is Rosebud' spine of the film lasting until nearly the final shot.
For it's time, the greatest film ever made.

Fallen, a review by Boomstick98

Fallen (1998)  :)

Plot: John Hobbes watches Edgar Reese, a convicted murderer Hobbes brought to justice, get executed. Reese dies with great bravado, and then a series of murders are committed using Reese's methods. As Hobbes follows up the last clues Reese left, we see an evil presence move from person to person by touch. Hobbes comes closer and closer to the secret as the presence taunts him more and more openly, threatening everyone Hobbes holds dear in the world.

My O: I like most of Denzel Washington's movies, so I decided to give this one a try. This was a pretty good watch, but I do feel that it could have been better. There were a lot of cool things that could have been done with this idea, but it seems the director opted to build suspense by letting everything slowly play out. This would have been fine, but I really didn't get the feeling that Washington's character was in any real danger until the last 30 min of the movie. Overall it is a decent watch and their are a couple of cool scenes involving the evil presence moving from person to person as mentioned in the plot above. I just felt that there were a few missed opportunities with this film.

Tom's Random Star Trek Reviews, a review by Tom

Star Trek: Voyager
1.06 Eye of the Needle
Writer: Bill Dial (Screenwriter), Jeri Taylor (Screenwriter), Hilary J. Bader (Original Material By)
Director: Winrich Kolbe
Cast: Kate Mulgrew (Captain Kathryn Janeway), Robert Beltran (Commander Chakotay), Roxann Biggs-Dawson (Lieutenant B'Elanna Torres), Jennifer Lien (Kes), Robert Duncan McNeill (Lieutenant Tom Paris), Ethan Phillips (Neelix), Robert Picardo (The Doctor), Tim Russ (Lieutenant Tuvok), Garrett Wang (Ensign Harry Kim), Vaughn Armstrong (Telek R'Mor), Tom Virtue (Lt. Walter Baxter)

I always enjoyed this episode. Although because it came early in the series, the ending is no surprise. There is no doubt that the wormhole they have found will have catch and that the crew will not have found a way home just yet.
