Fanaa, a review by dfmorgan

Fanaa

Year: 2006
Director: Kunal Kohli
Cast: Aamir Khan, Kajol, Rishi Kapoor
Overview: Choices... to choose between right or wrong is simple, but what defines one's life is the decision between the greater of two goods or the lesser of two evils. This is the advice Zooni Ali Beg (Kajol) receives from her father just as she is about to venture out into the world on her own for the very first time. Little does she know that these very words will shape her life.

Zooni, a blind Kashmiri girl, meets Rehan Qadri (Aamir Khan), a local tour guide and an incorrigible flirt. Her friends warn her against this good-for-nothing roadside Romeo, but she chooses to ignore them. It is now her time to discover life, and love. Is this really the right choice?

Rehan is fascinated by Zooni and wants her to see life as it should be seen, in its many colours. He promises her that the time spent with him will be the most precious in all her life. Zooni sees Delhi, life and love like she never has before, because of Rehan.

What Zooni doesn't know is that Rehan has another side of his life that he has kept from her - something that can not only change her life, but can also destroy it.

Fanaa... destroyed in love...

My Thoughts: Wow what a film, totally not expecting that. I'm glad that the overview didn't contain any spoilers about Rehan (Aamir Khan) and that I hadn't read any reviews that might possibly have held spoilers. Another film with light and dark elements with the first half of this film being the light side but the second half given over to the dark.

My Rating: A marvellous 4+ +

Premonition, a review by addicted2dvd

Premonition
Linda Hanson (Sandra Bullock) has a beautiful house, a loving husband and two adorable daughters. Her life is perfect, until the day she gets the devastating news that her husband Jim (Julian McMahon) has died in a car accident. When she wakes up the next morning to find him alive and well, she assumes it was all a dream. Or was it? Suddenly, her perfect life is turned upside down as she begins a desperate scramble to save her family and uncover the truth. Racing against time and fate, Linda will stop at nothing to discover the true meanings of reality and destiny.

My Thoughts:
This is the second time I watched this movie since I bought a couple years ago. The first time I saw this movie I was less then thrilled with it... and found it more confusing then anything. This time around I found I enjoyed it much more then the first time. It is definitely a movie that demands your full attention. It has a very interesting premise so it is not hard at all to give it the attention it must have. Sandra Bullock was wonderful as always. I personally could have done without Julian McMahon as her husband. Don't get me wrong... he did do a fine job... but there is just something about that actor I just do not like. I don't know what it is... but no matter what I see him in.. his presence somewhat aggravates me. I know... makes no sense... but it is the way I feel about him.

My Rating:
Out of a Possible 5

My Thoughts:
This one never really impressed me that much. Found it to be a bit slow and uninteresting. Probably one of my least favorite of any I have watched so far.
