I installed a mod that suppots up to 50 video types and doesn't even require the use of tags.

Quote
Automatically embeds video clips from links for 50+ sites including Youtube/DailyMotion/MetaCafe/Stage6/Stage6 without bbcode.

Just post a plain link to the page in the post and the mod will do the rest.
Its the ultimate user friendly way of posting clips and safe from a security standpoint.

Check this link for a full description and list of features

You're welcom Karsten.

Since I'm at it I thought I'd install other mods that are interesting.

1: The Google Search Mod.  Click the "Google Seach" button and add your search term(s) in the tag.
[google=SMF Google Search Mod]SMF Google Search Mod[/google]

2: Coming Up, the google videos mod.  Since the previous mod doesn't support google videos I'll install it as a separate one. I've been using it for a while on my FJ Cruiser forum and it works great.

Google Video mod.  Just put the google video id between the tags

Thanks for that Touti! It will be very practical with all the trailers that I place in my review.

Point awarded

Is it possible that something went wrong?

I explicitly used the URL-tag for a YouTube video but in appears in the post instead of the link test.

See my last post here: http://www.dvdcollectorsonline.com/index.php/topic,730.msg70470.html#new

:hmmmm:

You don't need the tag at all... just the URL Found this out just moments ago when I did the Knight Rider one.

The problem is, I didn't want the video to be embedded in the posting. I actually wanted a link and that's the reason I used a URL tag. :(

I think that it's automatic. But a way to do it can be :

http://www.youtube.com
enter this link to see the video -http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_G_pG2H4rRU

Not great, but I don't see anything else  :hmmmm:

Hmmm, when I installed the mod I didn't think of that, I found it was nice to be able to embed videos without even having to use a tag but it never occured to me that we'd be losing the option to post them as links.

Let me see what I can do about that.  If there is no workaround I'm gonna have to remove the mod and replace it with a set of tags.

DJ Doena

When I posted this, I had to use a redirect-URL (tinyurl) in order to prevent the video from being shown.
