The new series on Fox, "The Following" staring Kevin Bacon is really good.  Story of x-fbi agent called back to consult on the escape of a serial killer (sounds like the great film  Manhunter.

I really like the way that Kevin Bacon plays the haunted, baggage ladden 'hero'. 

It will be interesting what others here think of it.

I did catch episode one and it looks good. The Poe references and the scene of the woman putting that thing through her face at the start were pretty awesome. A show I'll buy.

I should have mentioned that it IS pretty explicit at times ... though I think the creep feeling is greater than the explicit violence.

ah .. you are a week behind us so wont give you any spoilers other than ... it was just a great!.  Don't know how long they can keep the intensity and quality up, but as long as they do I will be watching.

On another note ... have you seen Utopia from England?  Runs on Channel 4.  It is another intensive thriller.

Watched the trailer and liked it a lot. Who is that serial killer; Thomas Jane?

Will watch out for it on DVD.

But it's on Fox, so further seasons are unlikely.

That is hard to say ... i can't imagine Kevin Bacon going into this without some kind of guarantees.  But if it is good enough ... Fox will cancel 

So far after 3 episodes it is still really good.

On another note ... have you seen Utopia from England?  Runs on Channel 4.  It is another intensive thriller.

Sorry for the delay in repplying, but yes I did watch Utopia.

I thought it was excellent. and  I hope that there is a follow up, not sure why but I got a trilogy vibe from it.

I *think* i read in some uk blog that there will be another 'chapter' but not a continuation on the original.  But it was sweet, intense and twisted.

Now kind of wrapped up in "The Killing" from AMC

I didn't like The Killing (original or remake), but I think that is purely because I missed the first episode. Will give tham another go at some point though.

Quite looking forward to The Returned though, that starts next week over here.
