Merlin is a british TV series which plays during the early years of Merlin and Prince Arthur. I just watched the first two episodes and liked it in principle. The language is relatively modern but since it is a british show, at least they are speaking english, not american.

Although the characters are in their late teens it's not just a Highschool show moved back by 1500 years. I don't know any from the main cast except for the actor of Uther Pendragon who is played by Anthony Head (Giles in Buffy).

I will load the rest of the season also and continue to watch it.

But now I am really going to watch Sanctuary.

Merlin's a fun series as long as you don't take it seriously because they don't half cock about with the legend! Merlin and Arthur about the same age? Pardon?

We have had a conversation like this before, but Merlin demonstrates exactly what I was trying to say. Although the Arthurian legend has never been done justice, Merlin at least is harmless and promotes the magic and romance of the story, whereas something like King Arthur seems determined to prove everyone wrong and undermine all the things that made the stories about Camelot so popular. In other words, the characters are all there, the setting is correct, it just sort of bunches it all up. It's got a lot of energy which is the most important thing.

Series 5 which is currently airing will be the last it has been confirmed today.

Can't say I was ever curious about this one. I did watch Starz' Camelot, which was pretty disposable, but at least had Eva Green and nudity.
