TV Stars in Movies
One thing I always liked while watching movies is spotting actors that I know from different TV Series. So this weekend I thought I would do a marathon of movies that has actors I know from a lot of my favorite TV Series. I will be looking at atleast strong recurring actors... if not series stars from several of my favorite TV Series. So this weekend I watched...

Bringing Out the Dead
From acclaimed director Martin Scorsese ('Casino', 'Taxi Driver') comes one of his most compelling and unforgettable movies. Nicolas Cage stars as Frank Pierce, a paramedic on the brink of madness from too many years of saving and losing lives. My Thoughts:
This is the first time I ever saw this movie. John Goodman had a fairly small role in this movie... but Patricia Arquette was in the entire film. It was a decent drama with a touch of weird. Not a bad watch... but not something I can see myself watching very often as it is a pretty depressing movie.

I found it was a better movie second time around. I did find it too depressing the first time, but somehow it made more sense and was more relevant on another viewing. After all, Scorcese is never going to be confused with Disney!

LOL... that is for sure. I imagine I will think more of it on the second viewing once I finally give it another chance.  I will probably hit it one day while doing a Patricia Arquette marathon.

Superman 3

My Thoughts:
I know a lot of people that don't care much for this movie. I myself always really enjoyed it. I really liked the extra comedy this one had. I always liked the fact that Annette O'Toole played Lana Lang in this movie... then almost 20 years later gets a roll on a new Superman series as Martha Kent... raising a teen aged Clark.

Lord of Illusions

My Thoughts:
This is the first time I ever watched this movie. I finished watching it... and I still don't know what the heck was going on! A good friend of mine recommended this movie to me. And she just told me that if I wasn't paying complete attention to it... I would definitely get confused so that may be why. As I was interrupted several times in the movie. So to be fair I definitely have to give this one another shot. But from what I understand.. Clive Barker's movies can be confusing anyway. So let me just warn you... if you go to watch this movie... be sure that you can devote the whole 2 hours to the movie without any distractions.

Garfield: The Movie
Talk about livin' large! Garfield (hilariously voiced by Bill Murray) lies around the house, eats lasagna, watches TV and makes wisecracks -- until his owner Jon (Breckin Meyer) falls for a beautiful veterinarian (Jennifer Love Hewitt). When she asks Jon to adopt a sweet pup named Odie, Garfield appears to be in the doghouse. But not for long! When Odie is abducted by a dog trainer, Garfield must get off the couch to rescue the precious pooch.

My Thoughts:
This is a really fun movie... I think Bill Murray was a great choice to do the voice of Garfield. When I first saw "Ghost Whisperer" I was hooked and never missed an episode. Because of that show I became a HUGE fan of Jennifer Love Hewitt. So it was a treat to see her in this movie. This is a movie good for the whole family.... I highly recommend.

Superman 3

I know a lot of people that don't care much for this movie. I myself always really enjoyed it. I really liked the extra comedy this one had.

Now I've the proof that you like everything (this is not a reproach). But this is a Superman movie and the stars is not even him but Richard Pryor. Even the fourth one is better than that and I don't like it too.

LOL... lets just say I am easy to please. As long as the movie is entertaining I am happy. I don't look at it like who should be the center of attention or anything like that... I just loose myself into the world of that movie and go from there.

Garfield: A tail of two kitties
Breckin Meyer, Jennifer Love Hewitt and Bill Murray return in another adventure with America's favorite fat cat is back, and this time, Garfield's giving England the royal treatment! It's a British invasion of a different kind when Garfield (Murray), along with pals Jon (Meyer) and Odie, travels to London and meets his mirror-image in Prince, an aristocratic kitty who has inherited a fabulous castle. The two trade places, and soon Garfield is living large as only he can! There's just one problem: the dastardly Lord Dargis wants him out of the picture. 'Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties' is twice the laughs and double the fun for the whole family. It's good to be the king!

Jennifer Love Hewitt (Melinda on Ghost Whisperer)

My Thoughts:
After watching the first one I had the urge to watch the sequel as well. I never seen this one before today... and even though I thought it was a good, fun movie... I don't think it was as good as the first one. It just wasn't as fun. Unfortunately Jennifer Love Hewitt had a bit of a smaller role in this one as well. But don't get me wrong... this movie is still worth watching.

Cube 2: Hypercube
Eight strangers wake up in a bizarre cube with no recollection of how they got there and no idea of how to get out. They soon discover that they're in a deadly dimension where the laws of physics don't apply and they must unravel the secrets of the "hypercube" in order to survive.

TV Star:
Geraint Wyn Davies (Nick Knight on Forever Knight)

My Thoughts:
This is a really good sequel to an excellent movie. For some reason I really loved all the cube movies to date. I especially liked the higher tech traps in this one... though the first one was a little higher on the gore. I also liked Geriant Wyn Davies' character in this movie. He played it great in my opinion. If you liked the first one... but haven't seen this one yet... I would definitely recommend it.

Dr. Giggles
He makes house calls. No appointment necessary. Laughter is the best medicine when 'Dr. Giggles' gives fans of cult horror the right guffaws-and-gore prescription.

Larry Drake plays the night-prowling surgical M.D. (as in Maniacally Deranged) who takes a vengeful whack -- or saw, scalpel, stomach pump or whatever else he finds in his little black bag of medical malpractice -- at teens, cops, and other residents of a once-pleasant town. From an old haunted house to a midway fun house, from bedrooms to the O.R., the doctor is in(sane). And keeping pace with him is a start-to-finish spree of medical puns that make this romp a cut above. 'Dr. Giggles': He'll keep you in stitches.

My Thoughts:
This has always been one of my favorites. It is the first thing I ever seen Holly Marie Combs in... and I have been infatuated with her every since. Larry Drake was also good as Dr. Giggles himself. This is a movie I have watched countless times since I originally saw it... back in the days of VHS.

Well... I have some errands to run today... so I unfortunately need to cut this marathon short. At least I got a decent amount in... but if not for real life getting in the way I could have gotten a few more in.
