Script rewrites are finished... Stiller:
Quote
The story will pick up 10 years after the first film left off and, Derek’s “School For Kids Who Can’t Read Good” has been destroyed, leaving him in charge of its pupil.

I hated the first. Stiller's worst output by far, and I've seen Envy.

It's strange how this film has changed over the years. I read a recent interview with Stiller, probably in Empire and it is clear no-one is under any illusion that Zoolander was virtually a flop, in reviews too. But over the years it seems to have improved it's reputation and it is genuinely popular. I hated it as well the first time I saw it, but when I last caught it on TV, I really liked it!

They sure don't know what to do anymore... What's the point of all those sequels years after they were relevent (by exemple Top Gun or Independance Day).

Can we expect The Godfather Part 4, The Garbage Pail Kids Movie part 2 or Eddie & The Cruisers part 3 to be announce soon too? Roll Eyes

To be fair, Stiller's been toying with this for years, but everyone involved on the original thought it was a flop. It's taken them a long while to realise the fan-base is still very much there. Stiller claims "Do Blue Steel!" is still the line that gets shouted to him most...

It's probably the fault of all these model casting shows by Heidi Klum and others.
Obviously Stiller was way ahead of his time here and created the satire before the original.
