The funniest part is Pete's collection isn't that big!

I looked for the thread that shows the number of DVDs people own but I couldn't find it.

I'll bet his collection number is in the bottom half of number of DVDs owned on this site. On invelos I'll bet his collection is in the bottom third!

I think it's the thread you think of Kathy.

I'm now at 1964 DVDs, but I doubt I will jump to the next step this year (but certainly next year... 36 DVDs isn't a lot)

Actually, it's probably this one.

That said, I don't get the point of the "what's the point in having so many dvd" question .. it's obvious, there is no point! But, we are a bunch of collectors, and like all collections, it has no "point" to it. We just like having them, that's all. Same as with people who collect stamps, coins, or genital casts (NSFW! or in the words of Cracked.com: "Warning: website contains more flash-animated cocks ejaculating across the screen than typical websites").

As of right now I have 2,809 DVD releases (boxsets count as 1). And I do see a point to it. It is there if ever/when ever I want to watch it. Many choices for every mood. That is not a bad thing in my eyes. :)

I have 5200+ releases added to profiler (with 500+ boxsets counting as 1, and several hundred to add) and for me, I just love films. My taste is varied and I love to have that choice of just pulling a film out whenever I want. My wishlist is bigger than my owned list :stars:

Have to say I see my buying seeing no signs of slowing down. It doesn't just stop at the films either. I want the DTS audio, the different extras... hell, I own over 10 releases of Reservoir Dogs for the different packaging and extras.

Some people smoke, some drink, some do drugs. I buy films. Lots of. ;D
