I bought some DVDs from Asda on the way home this morning, i got home and fired up the computer to add them to Profiler, started to add them got to the last but one opened it up and.... NO DVD!!!!  :suicide: i have been buying DVDs since 1997 and this is the first time there has not been one in the case.

I don't think I ever seen no disc in the case either. There has been times I saw the wrong disc... but not no disc.

I recently had this with an Amazon marketplace purchase. But I had luck and the seller sent me a replacement. The replacement was even better as I had ordered the single-disc release and he sent me the original digipak two-disc release.

I've only had good experiences with Amazon Marketplace.

There's even one time where the article was decribed as being "unwrapped but looks brand new".. The box had a big tear when I received it. I took a picture, sent it to the seller, and he sent me a shrink wrapped replacement!

My only problem with Amazon marketplace is the fact that some sellers doesn't always send the version show on the screen. Happen to me when I bought God Told Me To... using the Blue Underground page, but got this one. Not the end of the world (doesn't really worth wasting my time for this), but annoying... Of course, I haven't bought from this seller anymore.

But in a physical store never got the kind of problem that Nick encounters. Asda is like a british Walmart if I remember well...

Najemikon

Pretty much. I believe Walmart bought Asda...

The only problem I have ever encountered was I once bought the two disc version of The Day After Tomorrow from HMV... I got it home and both discs were the special edition disc... I took it back they apologised and swapped it... I got outside I open the packaging and the exact same problem! I walk back in and they apologise... this time they open the one remaining copy they have to find it has the same problem :/

...No disc is strange... did they change it?

I think I told this story once before... but a long time ago. I once got a DVD in a local story. It was one of those cheap dollar DVDs... when I got home and opened it... it was the correct disc... but who ever packaged it should have been fired! The disc was filthy! the woman that packaged it must have taken her lunch break right there on the line... as ther was actually finger prints, food particles... and this is the one that I can't get over... lipstick all on the data side of the disc.

I was shocked to say the least... but instead of even thinking of going back I first tried to clean it. It cleaned up perfectly... worked perfectly so I of course kept it.

The "no disc" extravaganza happened to me once.  I used to order comics and books through a comic book catalog placing the orders with my bookstore.  I bought a few movie serials on DVD that way, too...they were put out by AC Comics who did a super-hero comic called Femforce (a group of all female members) but they also got into the DVD thing.  I ordered one called Panther Girl of the Congo (or is it Kongo?  I've seen it spelled both ways for that movie!) and when I got the two cases home and opened them, at least one of them was empty.  Dave, who owns the store, had to reorder it for me.  Phyllis Coates starred in that serial, by the way.  8)
