The problem is, Pete, that Horror is such a well-interpreted Genre. By definition, anything that has witches and witchcraft in is horror, but Charmed is actually Fantasy. In fact, if we're being really strict, all Horror is Fantasy. Horror is only horror by the way it is filmed, which goes back to the days of German Expressionism. It starts to become about the intention of the writers. They don't intend Charmed to be horror...

But all that goes out the window, because people like yourself (and me!) re-interpret horror anyway. So a zombie movie that scares the crap out of one viewer becomes a popcorn riot for others (hence why a generation of film-makers have grown-up and made films like Shaun of the Dead and Zonbieland, while real Zombie movies fail). It all depends where you want to draw the line.

In your case, because of what you're trying to do, I say we draw the line between you and anything like Charmed!

My Thoughts:
This one is for Swoozie Kurtz. She plays the televangelist that broadcasts from the ER. It is a good episode... but her storyline (televangelist) wasn't my favorite. I did like another storyline about a baby that was born an addict. Because of that storyline I also had to watch the next episode as that storyline continued into the next episode.

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation: The Complete Second Season CATS IN THE CRADLE... Grissom and Catherine investigate the stabbing death of an 80-year-old woman who lived in a run-down house full of cats; Nick and Sara comb through the remains of a car bombing that was, apparently, a murder plot gone awry.

My Thoughts:
This one I am watching in honor of Diane Farr's birthday. And I liked her in this episode... it has a good storyline. Especially the case that involved Daine Farr's character. Recently I been watching CSI Miami... and while the characters from that show is growing on me... watching this episode of CSI reminded me just how much I prefer this series' characters over those on CSI Miami.

Veronica Mars: The Complete First Season Weapons of Class Destruction Bomb scare: A new student is under suspicion when bomb threats lead to school evacuations. Bombshell: Veronica and Wallace cope with unexpected news from their parents.

My Thoughts:
I watched this episode in honor of Jonathan Taylor Thomas' birthday today. I always enjoyed this episode. This one touched on the season long mystery a little... but was mainly about the single episode mystery. Trying to find out who is sending bomb threats to the school. Which in this case is a good thing since I am trying to watch just one single episode... and not get to drawn back into the series right now!

Smallville: The Complete Fifth Season EXPOSED Undercover. And underdressed. Lois poses as a gentleman's club dancer to sleuth information about a murdered stripper who may have ties to Jonathan's longtime friend, Senator Jennings.

My Thoughts:
A decent episode... was cool to see Tom Wopat (Hapy Birthday Tom Wopat!) and John Schnider together again in this episode. And of course I liked seeing Lois going undercover at the strip club.... and we also get the first hint of Jonathan running for the Senate. But I don't think the episode came out as good as it could of.

My Thoughts:
I decided to watch this miniseries today... since it is Peter Nelson's birthday today (Sept. 10th). This miniseries is 27 years old now... and while of course special effects are better now a days... the effects on this show still holds up rather well. Though I did have to laugh at one part towards the end... where they were escaping the mothership in one of the shuttles... it showed them upside down... but yet the girl's long flowing hair stayed down at her side where they really didn't go upside down. I enjoy this one quite a bit. It has a good story that stays interesting through-out the entire 3+ hours it runs. Definitely worth giving a shot even if you are only slightly into sci-fi.

I considered that one but the length for a silent movie. Not sure I could keep up to it today!

Yeah, I thought that would give you pause!  It is considered a very important film, though, in the history of motion pictures.  It gets a full 4-star review in Leonard Maltin's movie review book.  Have you ever taken a quick look at your disc of it to see what the picture quality is like?

Nope... not yet. But I really don't expect much. As the copy I got is a free one in a 40 movie (20 disc) boxset I got for subscribing to Total Movie magazine. Those seem to range from awful to OK.
