eBay - never again!

I'm so stupid - for the first time in my life I was cheated by an eBay member.  :bag:

The story:
My son lost my 30 years old binocular. A Russian model 7x50 with a great quality. Looking for an affordable replacement I found a good offer at eBay - a 20x50 binocular from Tasco (well known US manufacturer and now owned by bushnell). What I received was really a piece of crap. I'm pretty sure that this is a Chinese falsification. The seller rejected my complaint and said : Tasco is printed on the binocular, so what's your problem. I was relly p****d.

Therefore I contacted Tasco in US and they will investigate. Today I bought a new one from a reliable source (Celestron Skymaster 15x70)...

Thanks for reading - now I feel better!  ;)

I have never used Ebay and probably never will. The site just gives me the willeys.

I gave up on Ebay years ago myself.

I've used them a lot in the past. Never had a problem. Well, one DVD wasn't what it said...

That said, I don't think I'd use them for something like that. I like to have a guarantee. Obviously ratio of price versus seller reputation is essential to any potential purchase.

I've sold a lot on Ebay too, so I have to stick up for them a bit.  :-[

I've been pretty lucky. The only problem I had was resolved because I use paypal.

I have don't know I how got so many but I think I own six or seven sets. I know I got some from my grandpa and father, one pair I found at a football game, the rest...who knows.

I have a ebay account, but never use it... I just search one film and since it never shows for an auction my account is pretty useless. Of course it would be different if I was living in the USA since I will try to get some films print and adult vintage loops.

This.

I've used it numerous times and have spent literally thousands of dollars there. Haven't used it for a while though (no play money these days).

Great for collectible items. But definitely buyer beware.

FWIW I have only been burned once, and that wasn't that bad really.

I was one time when cleaning a fryer at a restaurant I worked at... but this is another story and had nothing to do with ebay :yu:
