Odd combination for a double-feature.

Tonight my fiancée and I watched The Princess and the Frog, and then much to my surprise, she agreed to watch Black Mask (Hak Hap) with me. It was a strange combination, but it worked surprisingly well. Both were light-hearted movies that we both enjoyed.

Has anyone else had any odd double-feature combinations? How did they work out as a pair?

My last recent double feature with my wife was "King Naresuan" and "Wolfman (2010)"

In general my wife does not like horror movies but she enjoyed "Wolfman"

Just last night me and my partner watched Toy Story followed by Kill Bill Vol. 1.

Then again, it may not be odd at all, seeing how both are distributed by the same company

I'm very keen to check out the King Naresuan movies, and just last night found a five-hour, subtitled DVD set of Suriyothai (and an announcement of the shorter edit getting a Blu-ray release).

A few months ago I watched Citizen Kane followed by Twilight. Not only didn't I have someone else to blame for that combination, but I also enjoyed the latter more. Short reviews here. Do I win?

Confessing that you like Twilight more than Citizen Kane. Well... "win" is not the term I would use.

Strange combinations.... Hmmmmm, I once watched "The Brave Little Toaster" and then "Passion Pit" ...  The time for watching films ended shortly after this.

Calm down it was just in jest due to a Twilight related debate we had not long ago.

You've wandered into the old argument that for some reason, some people just can't get their heads around.

It is perfectly reasonable and absolutely normal to enjoy a film more than you appreciate it, or the other way around. Kane is one of my favourite films, honestly, but so is Ferris Bueller's Day Off or The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3. Which is the better, more important film? Kane of course, quite dramatically so. Actually, Matthias probably wouldn't go that far, as I remember his comments!

I had this situation recently with Rachel Getting Married, or almost any musical. I can say whether it is a good film, possibly a great film, and I can be enthusiastic about it and recommend it to others, even if I hated it myself.
