It appears that a 5.5 magnitude earthquake hit 33 miles north of Ottawa, on the border between Ontario and Quebec. Many sections of Buffalo felt a rolling wave like motion and had furniture move in their houses.

I'm wondering how my Canadian friends are doing and whether or not they felt anything too.

Wow! I hope everyones ok... thats a big earthquake!

Just got home! The building where I work fell down when the cell phone tower toppled over it! It was sooo scary!  :'(

Nah! I'm just teasing!  :P

I didn't even feel a thing but I have a few co-workers that did feel it. One was even scared that said cell phone tower was going to fall. No harm here!

I wish I had at least felt it though... It's not the first time an earthquake hits and I don't feel it...

 I felt an earthquake a few years back here... it was during the nigh, I woke up and the house just kind of rocked a little bit, nobody else in my house felt it, they though I was lying until it was on the news.

Najemikon

I remember two. One threw me out of bed!

This quake wasn't too bad by me. I haven't heard of anyone getting hurt, thank goodness. I know Buffalo is on quite an earthquake fault but it still is frightening when it actually hits.

Many years ago we had a propane explosion that moved my grandma's bed across the room. Quite a few people died that day.

Just how many people were in your grandma's bed?  :o

No effect here, but the middle ground is far from here. I can't forgot the last one here in 1988 and how it was fun to see the people going in the batshit insane run for your life mode in the shopping center (too bad me and my friend didn't think to get some free stuff in the panic )

:hysterical:

Why oh why do dirty comments and jokes crack me up? Speaking of which, I wish you would post your horny cartoon avatar here!

But, to respond to your question...wouldn't you like to know?!?

Dragonfire

I've heard that were supposed to be minor quakes around here...and once when I lived in Pennsylvania.  I never noticed anything.

Earthquakes can be a scary affair, if reasonably sized.

I don't mind the small ones (they occor quite regularly here). The medium ones get a little more3 to me, since I have to pay attention whether the shaking becomes more or less. :fingerchew:

Dragonfire

The one channel was saying on a little news update something about there being one in Ohio today.  I didn't notice anything other than the horrible thunder storm today.
